we just had this poll a week or 2 ago. It was pretty much split 50/50.

more hours = more electricity = more money

more light = more growth

giving the plants some rest.... just feels right to me

Roots grow best in the dark period, and large root mass is essential for healthy plants. Plus, its best to simulate natural conditions when growing indoors.

I say 18/6 .... They benefit from a dark period... As soon as i turned down from 24/0 to 18/6 i had another 2 sets of leaves in 2 days ... fasted its ever grown for me :) .. im on me 12/12 now though :):):)

Read the CALVIN CYCLE and you´ll understand why the dark period in veg is important.
