Anyone know how to get rid of algae using a form of spray or liquid or some kind of product??? drying it out doesnt get rid of it and its spreading

id appreciate it if someone could give the low down on algae, can it cause your ph to skyrocket?

Your plants look like they be getting a high tds. Algae feeds on excess nitrogen and seeing how your leaves are yellowing and the tips are burning I would say that it may be a cause. If you reuse cloning cups you will get algae but its from being constantly moist. I would not worry to much about it messing up your ph. The roots need to breath sure and I dont know if benefical microorganisms for the rhizoshpere may help break it down around the roots or not. Mycorrgizae may help as well to expand the root function. Be carefull not to over water. Baby organic soy formula with its calcium content my help aswell.

It's not really going to spread if you cut off it's light source. Give it time, completely blanket the area where the algae has grown and it should die. I have used chemicals --- algae killing chemicals --- intended for live ponds where fish and water plants thrive, so I assume it'd be okay for your plants roots in extremely low doses. If you're really worried about it, you can take a gamble with this shit.

nah i just took the bottom part of tape off to show, but could it be the light is penetrating that kind of tape??

Light must be penetrating the tape covering those cups.
Algae cannot grow or live without light, if you must use those clear cups I would suggest covering then with black duct tape or aluminum foil, dull side out.

I never use transparent containers to grow anything because of this.
