ive just potted a white rhino seed which has started leafing allready has anybody grew a white rhino strain and have any advice any input on this will be much apreciated thanks :) i repotted my seed after 6 days of it being in a jar with cotton wool dampend under a box on my homemade reflector in my grow room ,and it turned out good so now i have planted it im hoping it will take off nicely i will post a pic of it to this thread for all to see

I was wondering what u ppl thing about the 2 seedlings. It looks like busters plants leaves r a lot thicker than mine and we were wondering why:- mabe male/female, or a seed fuckup and 2 differant strains or even because i started mine in soil and buster in cotton wool, or am i just being paranoyed.

i think too much light to the roots can kill off the roots that are showing and/or stunt plant growth so i took precautions and covered up, best to be safe then sorry

thanks m8 my plants are 21 days old now and have come along way since the last update so ill attach another pic for ya all to see
p.s me and legalizdahurb made some improvements on his vegatation cabinet yesterday so maybe his seed might have a better groth rate from now on time will tell
what we did was made a bracket for his envirolite an attached it to the roof of his vegcab befour it was just standing upright at the back of his cab so we are hoping this will give a better area of light in the cupboard

Its not just the roots that you dont want to get light.. Mold and other FUN stuff will often grow at the bottom of the pot.. if the pot is CLEAR...

I started 4 White Rhino seeds a while back, and 3 turned out to be male. The other is doing fine. They are definitely smaller than more Sativa-dominant strains. My AK-48s (also planted 4, and 3 of THOSE were male too, booo) were roughly twice the size. Once I'm past the using-seeds stage (e.g. after these two females are done), I'll probably go with 3 or 4 AK-48s to stock up on bud, then try 3 or 4 White Rhinos and give them a fair bit longer in veg to bulk up. To put in perspective the difference between those two strains, the White Rhino has about 8 bud sites (I am SCRoGing), while the AK-48 has around 20, yet both were planted at exactly the same time. I'm hoping for maybe 12 bud sites on the WR before all is said and done, and I might hit 30 on the AK-48. (I would have waited for flowering, but I'm going to Bonnaroo in June, so waiting wasn't really an option.)

no i just bought a growbag and used the soil from that after adding perlite to the mixture
i was using nutes tho canna terra

no perlite is a thing ya add to the soil mix it helps drainage and airation to the roots of the plant its not that expensive eigther
if you just get a bog standard grow bag for a quid or something and use the soil from that that will do as it it naturally balaced with fertilisers and organic matter

all depends on how long i flower it for it could take about 2 months or a bit longer ,on seed packet it says flowering 8 weeks
but it could take longer if i wanna get amber coloured tricholms on it
and thats what im looking for when i harvest it

well me and legal went halfs on a packet of nirvana white rhino seeds and splitt them we ended up with 5 each mine looks like it is female
and so does legals or tho it is still early days
but the first signs look really good i can see white hairs on mine allready
as for the smell
they smell alot worse than my white widows for sure
during the vegging days the smell was un beleivable but it has seemed to die down a bit now i have turned to the flowering cycle
then again we will see if the smell will get up again when they start producing tricks ill let ya know on that one

Wow, theyre doing really well! Only a few weeks til harvest, I see the trichs are clear now. If it was me Id harvest them in a few days, as I prefer a slight sativa high to my buds - although a nice indica is always welcome before I hit the sack.
Im germing those WW seeds right now, they should be ready tonight as theyve been in damp cotton wool for 36 hours now. Ive also got a shitload of LRs on the grow, no idea where Im gonna plant them though! 3 Widows and 7 Lows, and Ive only got 4 pots. I think Ill just plonk the Lows in the garden and hope they dont get eaten by bugs. Im surprised the WRs havent died because of the ferting, Ive read that Rhinos dont really like being ferted much. Are you on full or half strength?

Edit: legalize, have you harvested your Lows yet? How much did you get and how was the high? Not the best bud in the world, but for the size of the plant its excellent. After the Widows have been done I might do a SOG with the lows.

I had bud rot on both of the lr's but only lost about 1/4 of the bud (well i didnt loose it, i still dryed and smoked it.) I have just cut and hung the none seeded 1 so i will let u know what weight it was. As for the seeded lw i got about 100 seeds from it and smoked it as i went. It wasn't the best bud but it did the trick. I cant wait till the good lw is ready for smoking, It will also mean my WW and WR will be ready.

Oh yeah, now that's the SHIT. I see fluoros in the pix. You guys use strictly fluorescents or did you suppliment with HID at all? The reason I'm asking is I'm like 11 days into a grow using 8, 4 foot cool white tubes over 4 plants in a 48"x30" closet. If I get results even close to yours......well I got no words for how cool that would be. No wait, BONNEROO, yep bonneroo, (oops, my Cali's showin' ha ha and my age too lol) go ahead, laugh, if I can grow some shit like this I'll be laughin' too, all the wat to cloud 9. Our local natives prefer White Rhino but I find it too thuddy of a stone, but I grow it for the natives. One important thing to know is they really like a little extra time, go the 8 weeks at least, try to stretch into 9, its worth it, powerful smoke. Good luck.:thumbsup:

well i have wieghed the whole lot and the dryed wieght i ended up with was
2 ounces and and three 8ths
which wasnt bad for my first grow
this was the white widdow and the white rhino
the buds on the rhino wieghed between 2 and 4 grams each and the 4 white widdow buds wieghed a huge 13 grams each
well this grow has finished and the next one is on the way i will do another log for ya all to see, my next grow is gonna be 2 white rhino clones in a scrog sort of grow

yeah im done now icebelowfreeze ive nearly smoke it all lol i sorted a couple of m8s out with a smoke and ive nearly finished what was left
its a good toke ,not too harsh on the throat and the high is brilliant
i would recommend it to everyone
im doing another grow now just about to make a log on it, im doing a scrog with 2 wihte rhino clones
im glad this thread helped other growers sort of makes it all worth while :thumbsup:
