Alright, so in a month I'm moving out and I'm ready for my first grow. I've been lurking around the forums for a while (you guys are a big help) and I think I'm ready. I'm planning on growing about five plants. Here is what my grow room will consist of:

16" horizontal from nblighting.com
HPS and MH ballast (HPS for flowering)
Oasis automatic watering system
White widow, white rhino, and a northern lights from Nirvana
Ionizer for the smell, thought not too close to the plant
Miracle Gro dirt and fertilizer

Now my question is whether or not that is enough. Should I buy other types of nutrients or should I use any other tools? Your input will be incredibly appreciated, and expect to see pictures up in about a month. Thanks!

Two things.

1.) The oasis watering system drips every 12 hours, regardless of whether or not the plant needs it. You should ONLY use the oasis when you absolutely have to. Its not good for the roots to be wet all the time, they need air too.

2.) DO NOT use miracle grow dirt. Its much better to use a soil mix that is free of fertilizer, that way you can precisely control the nutrient content of the soil by adding your own ferts. I am using miracle grow soil, and what a mistake! Not only does it have very poor drainage (i can only water my plant every 8-10 days), but I ran into fert and pH problems.

good luck

Yeah, miracle grow has ferts added, so it can kill your seedlings before they even get their 2nd set of leaves... Smoknjoe covered it all :) Goodluck
