can you start smoking the weed when it starts growing or do you have to wait for it to flower and bud....or can you just pick a leaf or two and drie it out and smoke it

Generally you need to wait for it to flower and bud.

Most of the THC resides in the flowers, I wouldn't recommend just chopping the leaves straight up and smoking them.

Unless you like headaches :D

Devin,

The leaves, like all parts of a cannabis plant, have some THC. The buds, on the other hand, are LOADED with THC. The whole purpose of growing cannabis is to bring the plant to maturity and harvest the buds. Leaves are necessary for photosynthesis, which is how the plant converts light into energy for growth. Cutting off the leaves for smoke will harm your plant. You'll get a short, crappy high.... and then a headache.

Have some patience and self control, it will pay off in the end.

It depends. Its always better for the plant if you wait till the buds are ripe - but if you are dry you can smoke leaves and get a mild buzz. I am in that spot and I h ave been smoking the leaves of my Ak47 whenever I see a need to trim - or whenever my wife insist. They get us really stoned , cant imagine what the finished product will look like. Also if you top for bushiness, the growing shoots are more potent. But, if you have a choice, leave them alone - it will pay off big when you harvest.

if u cant wait to smoke ur stuff when it hasnt budded what r u going to be like when ur buds r 6/7 weeks along and fat/sticky/stinking but not quite there! thats when will-power gets involved!
does help when a mate gets hold of massive bags of white widow to keep the wolf from the door so to speak.

Hello DSB :) The main aim of growing cannabis is to produce sticky resinous buds ;)
Once you have produced and harvested those then yes dry the leaves, especailly the resinous ones .............. they are smokeable and depending on the THC value some of those can deliver quite a nice high but buds are the main point of growing ;)

I think you need to read up on the subject a little before you waste you own time...After you do, you can make an intelligent decision on your own.

There is no debate as to the correct answer to this question.
