When you hit a vaporizer, do you hold the light on it for a long time or just until you see the little vapors?

I'm thinking of making a lightbulb vape.
Should you grind up the weed?

yea, def.

you also dont need as much weed as you would pack in a bowl. the more like powder it is, the more you get out of it.

i have a lightbulb thiing too, works super well. use a candle flame instead of a lighter, and hold it about an inch or so above the flame until you get a thick cloud of swirling vapor. vapor can feel surprisingly harsh since its so dry, so you'll have to get adjusted to how big you want your hits to be.

I also just built a lightbulb vape and I was curious if a plain plastic straw would work for the top? I would imagine it melting.

THAT explains why one hit from one of those makes me feel like I'm going to die...

well don't light it the WHOLE time, once vapor comes out take it away from the flame for a little, so it doesn't get so hot you're actually just getting smoke and not vapor. also, crazy enough, if you put a few drops of water in there, wait for it to boil then start taking your hits, it works crazy good. not harsh, and it feels like a lot cleaner high.

sounds nice, does this mean the pot gets wet tho?

well, yeah the pot gets wet, doesn't really affect it cuz you're vaping it, not smoking it. so the water vapors up along with the thc, making a smooth hit/cleaner high somehow. you gotta experiment with it a little bit.

I always use water to clean my vaporizer, then heat it to get the last of the water out, making it nice and dry. In doing so the water vapors actually help clean the thing even better (you should all try this).

However if theres more than just a little bit of water, the bigger droplets and puddles bubble and boil and I'm always afraid the glass will break.

So isn't the glass in danger of breaking if I vaporize water and pot at the same time?

vapor can feel surprisingly harsh since its so dry, so you'll have to get adjusted to how big you want your hits to be.

only lightbulb vapor, which is utter crap and most likely bad on your lungs.

if i use a candle the glass gets dark on the outside, is this ok?

well, the glass isn't getting any hotter from the water sitting in there boiling. it just makes a sound. i'venever had it break or anything, so there prob isn't a risk.
