So in viewing alot of your guys rooms i notice that some ( most ) people use a hanging reflector for their HID's.

But others choose to just let their light dangle in space...without a reflector...

What are the advantages of having no reflector????

More lumens????

Do you need a lower ceiling to reflect light back down???

As always questions questions questions, sorry but i have a curious mind.

Thanks

Another ??

Some hang their bare bulb horizontal others straight up and down.

Advantages here both ways??

There is no advantage. People without a reflector are just too cheap/lazy to use one. You just loose a ton of your light out the top of your bulb without one.

Some new growers can't control heat with their resources. Not using a reflector is one way to combat this.

Some experienced growers may vertically hang several bare bulbs between plants, not so much over them. This gives amazing light penetration to all buds (again, with many bulbs)

using reflector is common sense unless the room is very small. i have a U wing reflector for the 430W HPS and kinda W shaped for the fluros. work's great and im not even gona try not using one ;)

Reflectors? Always.

I've heard from a few people not to use them as it "magnifies" the light and depending on your setup, the bulb alone will give off enough.

I really think it depends more on your grows setup, how many plants you have, and your personal opinion.

I'd really like to know more about this though..

Better with than without.

its all about the set up as the man said , i dont use one as my roof is low and i dont need one, its all about the set up and you get more lumens from a bulb side on than you do hanging it

You can also mount reflectors sideways.
