Hello all,

Well the never ending battle with spider mites is slowly taking its toll on me. No matter what i do, i cant seem to get rid of the little fuckers. Ive tried everything but 100% pure neam oil which im looking into.

If you have never had a problem with mites, you better thank the lord for blessing you with a mite-free grow environment. THEY RUIN EVERYTHING!

If you have, or did have a Spider Mite problem this is the thread to post your experiences and solutions to getting rid of the little buggers. I will be posting pics soon but i really need some advice for getting rid of mites during flowering (cold water method only works during veg) My lady is only 21 days into flowering and her pistils are already turning brown, im thinking this is because of mites because the only bud that has 100% white hairs has a very minimal amount of white specs on the leaves, where the others have TONS.

If anyone has any advice, you have no idea how helpful it would be.

Have you tried 'torching the place? lol...Really, have you stripped and cleaned out your entire growroom...I had to stop production and strip flower room, due to pollen contamination. You might have to do the same. Sucks, huh?

Yeah Turtle, that's a good idea. If you could find a way to have c02 running consistantly it'd probably be better for your plants, but I would say some c02 is better than none.

"I killed all of my spider mites by wrapping a clear bag around the plant, twist tieing it at the bottom and gassing it with C02 and leaving it for an hour. neem oil works well, but you have to use it in cycles. it kills the adults but not the eggs. you have to break the cycle. it took me almost a month to get rid of mine. also with it being almost spring, go outside and find some ladybugs they love spider mites.

I use CO2 from a mixture of yeast and sugar... pretty common, im sure u know what im talkin about. And the continuous steady release of that seems to do well for my plants, But must have a pretty sealed grow room to make that efficient.

I will now take this time to THANK THE LORD, for never having spidermites... Stoney that is a serious bummer man, but im glad u gave them the gas... right on. :thumbsup:

Same here Acoustic, I made a 4 gallon mixture. It's not getting it's full use yet with only 3 plants, but soon enough.. oh yes. Soon enough.

It's set up a little differently then this picture.
(I moved 5 gallon bottle so it was working with gravity)

By a shit load of it and make a tent that goes over your plants....

Then put the dry ice in the tent...

Grim & Acoustic, I will be looking into a co2 deal to help my plants thrive in a bit,but right now im just trying to COMPLETLY eradicate these mites. My lady is only 26 days into flowering and 50% of the hairs on her have turned brown because of them. There is a shit load of white dots ALL over ALL the leaves. Im so sad :(

Knowm, Thanks SO much for the help, i really need it right now. I have a few questions though. I am using LST on my plant so putting a tent over all her strings and twisted shit wouldnt work very well, the room isnt too big though. Would it work if i bought all the dry ice and just put it in a bucket in my flowering room with the exaust fan off? I really need advice quick she is such a beautiful lady, i would hate to see her come to an early death due to some tiny pests.

Also, this is the second grow that has been taken over by mites, does anyone know of a sure way to have my next grow mite free?

I used the paintball gun canister for a while, but it was such a pain in the ass. I would twist the canister onto the gun until it started leaking and let it leak for 15 seconds, and do that every 2 hours. I found its more trouble than its worth.

Im using the yeast method now. Its alot easier and cheaper.

Each female mite can lay up to 12 eggs per day.. yikes... a mite reaches maturity at 14 days old.. and can start to make more mites.. M ites don't have to fuck to reproduce..... at least that's is what I read..

I might have an idea for you...At lowe's or any hardware store...you can get a roll of this plastic in the paint department, that has tape on one edge, and flows out about 4 feet...Take 2 different pieces, take the first and tack it to your strings, they should support it long enough to get to the other side 2nd piece...attach tape to tape with the 1st, making a tent...Idon't know if this will help you or not, just thinking outloud.lw

nemo oil (however it is spelt) works very well on a large amount of bugs kills them all just spray on with sprayer every so often doesnt hurt the plants at all

smoknjoe, I'm thinking about using the yeast method next grow, but i really am focused on frying ALL the bugs/eggs in my room right now. Will the yeast method produce enough C02 to fry the buggers?

ICEToker, Ive tried something along those lines, but it didn't seem to do anything because it was hanging and the mites don't fly. Would this really work on mites? If it does how are they supposed to get to something suspended from the ceiling?

Garden Knowm, i was thinking of predator mites, but i heard that they don't work to well, and most of them die on the ride over. Also, How much dry ice should i throw in a bucket? I have a puppy that sleeps right next to the closet door would this hurt him? How long should i leave the bucket in my room before i take it out and turn the exhaust fan on?

latewood, Thanks for your help! How wide are those pieces of plastic? I may be confused but I'm not sure how two pieces would make a tent? Also, if i just got a piece of plastic the size of my room and tacked it above the plant, just to keep the co2 from rising and leaving would it help at all?

It seems to be working a bit, but because it is lst i cant get the undersides of the leaves, and it seems to be making my pistils turn brown early.

Ive attached pictures of the fungicide, and something i am looking into, i guess it is a mister of the pyrethrum (not sure if this will hurt my dog)

hi there,

ive had a spider mite infestation in the past and used hot pepper wax to control them while finishing off my flowering cycle....but the truth of it is the best way to get rid of those ganja eating fuckers is to shut your room down and clean everything,...pots,floors,walls,everything..
the hot pepper wax puts a thin coat of wax over the leaves and traps any bugs their and there eggs....

the co2 methods sound the bomb,..........
