I finally got a nice place to grow my plants. the thing is i use soil growing for now and it means watering by hand, and that also means being able to walk around my plant's.

The room is 10x12 and light's.. 1x 430W HPS , 1x 1000W HPS and also i have 4x 160W Mercury Vapour (self ballasted) if it's of any use. 6x 58w T8 flourecents and 6x 20w CFL.

I think the light's will do but how the fu** do i arrange my pots so the space dont just go in waste. Also how many plant should i grow in there and do you thing heat from the HPS will heat up the room to much? i have access to outside air trough the window but people can see it from the road so i cant have bright/light leaks :/ .

Im not gona plant anything until i know how im gona do this setup from start.

any advice would be a great help... because i cant sleep until i figure this out  ...

I keep about a foot, foot and a HALF BETWEEN THE WALL AND MY PLANTS...THEY'RE gonna grow and fill that space ,but at least u can walk around your whole garden.

the temperature depends a lot on the outside temperature. your room will get real hot unless it is cold outside

Ive just got my 600w HPS, and Im using it for one (yes, a little overkill)plant... Lowryder, actually - and its a female - and as you can see from my grow log, Im using it in a cabinet/closet. The space is about 2ftx2ft, and about 5ft high. I have my window open all day and all night, with the fan on a few hours a day in the evening, and the temps range from about 23C to 27C, so all in all its pretty darn good. Im surprised that the temps dont go higher than that, but if they do I can always mount the lamp on the shelf above instead so theres more room :)
Hope that helps!

try growing 20,five across by 4. if you have plenty of hieght use approx 5gallon pots to get decent size plants.

i would suggest 50cm x50 cm per plant.

For the 1000w I suggest a 4'x4' area with a light mover and for the 430w I suggest a 2'x3' with a light mover. Heat is the biggest obstacle and it will need to be addressed. Put a board(painted black facing out) across the window with duct holes. Place speaker cloth across the whole to block light and prevent pest. Your not only concernede with light leaking out, but light leaking in, which can disrupt the flower cycle.

ok it's done. arranged 50cm x50 cm per plant, thanx bobby ;).

and Snow Owl, that board is up and painted black facing the window. it's like the light's are always off looking at it from outside, great advice  .

im still trying to find some fabric like speaker cloth to seal the duct.

i just turned the light's on and im checking the heat regulary. i think this will be a wonderful crop, woohooo
