Hey guys,

I know this type of thread has been done countless amounts of time...I have looked through some of the other threads, and browsed through review upon review....but its just so hard to get an overall view of the places...

....i'm going from the 10th of June till the 18th, and I was just wondering which are the best coffee shops for weed/atmosphere/friendly staff etc etc....
I want a mix of things to experience really...

I'm looking to go see some of the sights aswell....not just sit round smoking all day....anyone know of any worth while places to go sight-seeing I should check out....any where I shouldn't go?

i have been looking on the net for most of the night and found that these places seem to be highly reccomended by most people who have been there:

Barney's
Sheeba
Grey Area
Greenhouse Tolstraat
Katsu

Anyone know any good secluded places that have nice weed, but are reletivly quiet compared to the more touristy parts of the city?

I'm there for 8 days so that should hopfully give me enough time to get around the city....

Any advise/help/feedback at all is greatly appreciated......I know I have a while to wait till I get there....but to be honest im just sooo damn excited :D

Thanks

Az.

Amsterdam is very tourist. Too many people and too much hype.

I grew up in Holland Rotterdam, and I use to go to SENSI (Nieuwe Binnenweg), but it got shut down because they got caught selling to kids under the age of 18.

Rotterdam is much more quiet, relaxing. You don't have a few hundred people all crowding into these cafes to catch a glimpse of it. Much more mellow. Try some of these:

-De Poel (Eendrachtsweg 29)
4 floors and many activities. In the center
-De Lachende Paus (Nieuwe Binnenweg 345b)
a famous coffeeshop in town to buy but it has no place to sit down. Just take away. Great choise of pre-rolled joints. In the center as well.
-T Trefpunt (Botersloot 7)
with free internet. In the center too.
-Sensi smile (Henegouwerlaan 73)
very popular.
-Reefer (Oppert 1)
beautiful interior.
-Out of Time (Nieuwe Binnenweg 363)
-Pluto (Nieuwe Binnenweg 54)
just to buy things, no places to sit down. Great supplies of smoking accessories.

Hope that helps you somewhat. :)

I was literally just looking at day trips to Rotterdam from Amsterdam....

Oh, by no means Amsterdam is the place to check out, but staying in the smaller parts of Holland may save you some cash on hotels.

If you wanted to though, a person could almost see the entire country of Holland in a matter of 2 days! It's that small.

The entire country is wonderful and the people are so nice and generous.

Good luck.

I went to Amsterdam when I was 17 with a friend for 5 days and smoked so much weed, I came back with a stutter, I mean, I couldnt even string a sentence together, I spent morning, noon and night in the coffeeshops. Before I went, I made a list of places I wanted to visit (non-weed related) and in the end, only ended up going to Anne Franks house but I had to leave half-way through because I was so stoned.
The coffee shop I went to was called Smokeys, didnt really venture far from the hotel so cant give you any advice in that sense......but go the Magic Mushroom Gallery - I bought some mushrooms and made tea but it didnt work, though I think it was done to me rather that the shooms.
Anyway, what I wanted to say was.....

When crossing a road there - be careful! Its so easy to get knocked over, with cars going one way, trams going the other and hundreds of crazy cyclists everywhere!

Last time I was there was the Hempfair januari 20th. Going back on March 1st. I would recommend Barney's though  it's just such a good shop.
But if you're there, they probably have the international Highlife guide in most shops. which is free ;) all the coffeeshops in the world baby.

Cheers Chowder :)

lmao Cheers for the advise Sensi, lol...i can imagine it to be well hectic when really stoned. Places like Anne Franks house is the type of shit I would like to see.
I will also check out the Musgroom Gallery.....what is it?

i have only smoked green for 3 months of my smoking life....so I can imagine that smoking actual weed is going to knock me on my ass...and through the floor. So im going to TRY and take it easy when i first get there....ill probly end up passing out in the first cafe we are in or somthing....lol....but I just really want a mellow holiday...away from here...chilling with my Gf and mates...and IM SOOO FUCKING EXCITED :D:D:D:D....lol shame were going in June....

Hill Street Blues is an excellent Coffee Shop or The Grass Hopper

Hill Street Blues does however have a peep hole cut into the toilet cubicles so they can watch you shit, lol, no so they have make sure you ain't doing any hard drugs

if you are going to take magic mushrooms, ask for dried ones from under the HeadShop counter 'hush hush', they are illegal now but you can still get your hands on them.

Yes. Do not ever smoke it in the streets. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only, like in the coffee shops. I use to smoke it all the time in the streets though. If you're going to do it out in the open, do it in a non-public place. I mean like, not in the heart of Ad'am. Along the countryside, but anywhere but in a busy place. You won't get arrested, but the cops will put you down. :p

I got caught a few times there. Not a big deal, but like I said, they'll put you down or may give you a small fine. One caught me and said, "U neukend idioot" (You fucking idiot), and went on to tell me I can only smoke in the cafes.

Other than that, just be cool and normal and you'll be good.

it depends man. the best strains are 6-7 euros per gram, medium strains 4-5 euros. batch weed is about 2 euros per gram. convert it online ;)

Now listen here you foreigners :)

Normally they aren't allowed to sell anything to tourists anymore. But this isn't being enforced that much.

Shops close at 12 in most cities.

You can buy up to 5 grams, not more. But a little trip around town can get you a little more ;) visit different places

It's indeed best to not smoke in the street, have some basic respect... Not everyone wants to see us smoke, just like I don't want to see people boozing on the streets. Not a nice atmosphere.

The weed over there is probably way, way more potent than you have smoked. I went to the shop with an Australian guy who swore he knew a lot about it and smoked for 4 years. He passed out (literally) after two joints. So watch out nOObs :p

Don't ask for shrooms in a coffeeshop. Smartshops are the way to go.
Don't take harddrugs to coffeeshops  this is KILLING the industry @ the moment.

Don't let yourself get ripped off. Tourists are easy targets for malevolents.

Dutch chicks rock. Really.

Hey Az. the drugtourism is a major issue in Holland right now. Foreigners who export their pot will be periodically located and convicted, in close cooperation with customs/drug enforcement/local police forces. In the EU, where we have the Shengentreaty now, we have free passage over all borders in the EU. This upped the tourism, and now they want to crack down.

I asked around, and some coffeeshops really don't sell any pot to foreigners, and I must say, I've visited a good bunch of shops and in the border towns the situation is pretty f-ed up. Gigantic lines of people, almost all foreign, waiting to buy large amounts. Mostly Germans apparently, because they are well... Pigs :).
It hasn't been included into the ground rules of coffeeshop ownership. Maybe Dutchy could clarify? :p

EDIT: Dutch minister Donner is planning to enforce the law in the very near future, only selling pot to dutch citizens. It's ok for me, I can fake a dutch accent very well. :D

I think that's only being enforced in places near the border to discourage people crossing the border for their weed.
