When I'm not in class it's usually pajama pants, a t shirt, and bathrobe. When I am in class it's jeans, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket.

Winter/Spring - boring, casual clothes - hoodies, combats, denims - anything comfy really :(
Summer/Autumn - pretty clothes - dresses, skirts vest tops & cute shorts :)
Hate tacky clothes that show far too much flesh, you see a lot of it in Glasgow and its horrible.
Never been bothered about designer gear either, as long as it looks good I'm happy.....
jeans and t-shirt.....normally a band t-shirt....but somtimes just any t-shirt....
...
......why do you buy such expensive brand names?
could I also ask how old you are
SmokeyPotter

bedake, I want to bang you.
I used to be very big into "punk" but now that I've grown up I've sorta matured my style, but it's usually kinda funky; skirts with stripped knee-high socks, home-made tshirts with things like "Cancer makes me sad" on them, my chunky 'fuck me' boots. And I also wear more cleaner looking clothes from like Kohl's, but not real expensive shit, that's just crazy. BUT that's when I go out, school is a completely different story, and because I rarely go, I don't care enough to dress nice. Black or white tshirt, button up shirt over top or hoody and jeans or sweatpants with my knit clog shoes <3. Sometimes I have the typical stoner attire, other times I don't.

I've got a bunch of 4-year old cargo pants in my closet and a collection of t-shirts from the 70's and 80's. Add in a few pieces of generic modern clothing (including necessities such as long underwear, a few sweatshirts, some jackets), and you've got my wardrobe.

I don't really follow name brands much. If I like it, and at a good price, I'll buy it. As far as getting $80 pair of jeans made by Klein or Lauren, no way, not for me! I just buy Khakis at Marks Warehouse here at like, $30 a pair. Good enough for me. Comfortable, good price, and doesn't fade or shrink. Made in Canada shit!
As for shirts, I just wear hoodies and t-shirts. Not too many logos though, but a few band t-shirts. Sometimes I'll just buy a $50 hoodie, find a sweet patch at the headshop or music store, and sew it on there. Cheaper that paying full price for something that will be too small after a wash load.

Well, the whole book is actually about how kids from birth are exploited by manufacturers advirtising, the way advirtisements are built today are totally made to exploit the youth of today, ranging from the way things are shelved in stores to whatever. It also talks about universities, bar/bat mitzvahs, quince partys, i forget the name of those, when latino girls turn 15.
From a review by some dude-
"Ms. Quart shows that the marketing tactics used are often invasive and unscrupulous, amounting to a sort of "corporate pedophilia" whose aim is to grow the corporate bottom line at the expense of childhood itself. Indeed, the author explains that whole classes of products (such as sexually-provocative undergarments designed for pre-teen girls) are unapologetically marketed to ever-younger children, thereby accelerating the pace at which children develop, perceive and interact with their surroundings. Ms. Quart blasts the justifications used by marketers to defend such indefensible actions and alerts us to the moral vacuousness that lies at the heart of the corporate agenda.
Ms. Quart argues that our children bear unmistakable psychological, physical and financial scars from this assault. Media-induced anxiety leads boys to steroid abuse and girls to anorexia; social acceptance is garnered by the flaunting of expensive designer clothes and accessories; class status is predicated by admission to brand-name colleges; and so on. The end result is a hyper-competitive, anxious and debt-ridden generation of youths who collectively are getting locked into the cycle of labor and consumption at a significantly earlier age than their predecessors. "
thats basically what the book is about, very good.

i wear a lot of hemp, fair trade supported, secondhand, true-cost economy, organic, grassroots supportive 'brands'. i am an educated consumer and I refuse to wear what corporate america says is cool. i try not to wear anything that is not recognized by fair trade organizations or that are purveyors of sweatshops or wage labor. i wear stuff that I can feel confident knowing that is fair to the maker and the wearer and that there is no middleman. it may be more expensive to buy FTF clothing, but I know that I am getting exactly what I paid for and giving exactly what is owed. anyway, I hate brand-name clothing except for the following FTF brands. i dont really treat them like brands, but as companies that i can trust:
Blackspot
People Tree
Equop
American Apparel
Bishop Trading Company
Ethical Threads
Footprint Clothing
Funky Ghandi

Tradecraft

i buy cheap baggy clothes hoodies, and baggy jeans mainly from charity shops.
cus i do not see the point in spending 30 quid on a t-shirt when u can get sumthing tht is like what 6 months out of date for like 4 quid from a charity shop.:D :rasta:
Loosen the purse strings a little mate! A man hs to have good, smart clothes. Clothes should fit the wearer, not be hanging all of your arse and short sleeves near your wrists are no go zones for me!
I wear Henri Lloyd, Lacoste, Nicole Farhi, Stone Island, Adidas, Fred Perry etc.
EACH TO THEIR OWN!!!!

Being 6'2" and slim built I find it really hard to find clothes that fit without getting them made for me.
I have a 30" waist and a 33 inside leg which means off the peg trousers either are too short or I have to buy a waist size larger to get the length right.
