What pH water do you use, or what do you think is the best?

I'd say 7-7.1 because then the plant hasnt got to get used to growing in acidic/alkaline soil, which makes it healthier. Nuetral is best, its kinda like what would you like to take a bath in? ... Water, Acid or Alkali.

Should have stated for Hydro or soil grow. There is a difference PH target for each. Grow in Hydro myself and the plants love it around 6. This is when the plants are able to absorb the nut. and water.

6.9 -7.1 seems more accurate to me. It works very well also

i always use r/o water ph'd to 6.4. i ph the ferts to 6.4 when i mix them as well. i also add dolimite lime at 1 tbsp per gall of promix when mixing the soil. doing this, i never have any ph problems, lockouts, etc.

I always adjust the hydro nutes to 6.3 ph, just adding the water that evaporated and keep it there with 6.3 ph adjusted ro-d water also...

i shoot for the low side of 6.5 due to our water being so hard that it tests off of the color scale. i use "ph down" on the tap water when i can't get to the nearby river and fill up a couple 5 gallon bottles (gila river) but it's not much better...the river water runs around 8 but with the potting soil i use it either balances out or 8 is close enough. i've also found "britta" water filters will bring down the tap water to a 5.5! so with a little juggling it's easy to get it where you want it. so for those with hard water, check out britta's water filtration system. i'd use it more often but it only makes half a gallon at a time and is another expense...
