I went to HD today and I only saw 1" poultry wire. It seemed kind of small. What size are youguys using?

1 inch is small... especially if you are using 1000 watt HPS!!!

some nugs may get strangulated..

i use 1 or 1 1/2 inch screen with excellent results. the stems go through the holes not the buds!

how do you space yours using a 1/1 screen? I understand that the stems go through, but hey, if you filled every 1" hole, that'd be 144 per square foot. Do you space them out one box between stems?

Beautiful scrog by the way. Hopefully someday I'll have something similar.

i don't do it as exact as that. as long as you don't overlap stems or have the growth tips so close that they are touching then you should be fine. check out these pics from days 11, 19, 26, 39, and 42 of 12/12. it is alot easier to see how the spacing works if you see all the pics side by side so you can actually watch the buds develop. hope this helps!

Damn cool SCRoG... mighty fine SCRoG in fact!

gK, another candidate for your video, v2.0 :)

JustAseed, I've been meaning to ask you...

You top/FIM them... right? As soon as they get through the screen you start the toping or before?

Thanks,

i top/fim once the clone has 4 nodes. then i continue topping almost all the secondary growth shoots as well for the next 6 weeks. i stop topping 2 weeks before i switch to 12/12. this is a clone that has been topped and lst'd starting a week after it rooted. it is still very young (3 weeks or so)

the second pic is a new technique iv'e started. i take a clone from the middle of the branch as well as the tips. these mid branch clones start growing at least 2 main tops right from the start even without topping. i hope that makes sence the way i explained it

nice scrog man about how much greenery do you expect to harvest off those babies im thinkin a lot i would like to try the scrog method but it seems to me it is only possible with a lot of space. Is it possible to scrog in 2'x2'x4' box. Also what is the purpose pf scrog growing does it produce more colas or what?????thanks for the help and once again awesome grow man keep it up

one reason scrog is so great is that you can get high yeilds in small spaces with relatively weak lighting.my space in that scrog is only 22inches deep x 4 ft long. i have 2 other scrog cabs that measure 2'x2'x3 1/2' each. the height isn't important all you need is about 3 1/2 feet for the pots and room to get your hands under the screen. they only go 8-12 inches over the screen, if you train well even less! my current scrog (pics above) is 3 ww's under 400hps and a 4 42 watt cfls i am hoping for 14oz this harvest. with a little more practice and some luck i should eventually get a pound each harvest. with the ww's at least. my next crop is gypsy's kiss from reeferman and i have only scrogg'd that strain 1 time before so i won't get as high a yeild till i get the feel of the strain.

Ok... sooo....

How long do you veg your clones for?

I was planning on following General Hydroponics schedule... 3 weeks of vegetative growth, and the 8 weeks for flowering...

How long do your clones grow in vegetative growth? For 6 weeks? But if you stop topping 2 weeks before 12/12, would it be 8 weeks vegetative, 8 weeks flowering??

Thanks Seed,

^^^^^^^

Oh yeah, one more question:::
The screen for the SCRoG... how do you attach it to your cabinet? Or does it have a frame? Or a combination of both?

I don't know if to build a square frame for the screen, or simply bolt/attach it to the inside of the cabinet...

Ideas?

Thanks again,

i was at the phil shows in RI so i haven't been on the computer, sorry. i usually veg anywhere from 6-9 weeks. i start clones when i move a crop to the 400hps and just veg them until the plants under the 400 are done, then move the new crop in. this way i get a harvest every 8-10weeks(strain dependent) from each flower chamber.

i attach the screen by putting screws in the walls of the chamber at the height i want the screen. then i just attach the screen to the screws with floral wire or string or anything similar. it's really simple.

New question::: (they never end! lol)
1. Vegging for 6 weeks, to me, I'd shoot my self in the head. Honestly... I can't stand it anymore. I planted seeds in September, and I STILL don't have anything... I need to plant now! lol

Anyways... do you think that if I veg them for 3 weeks, they'll provide a SCRoG like yours? I doubt it... I've got 6 clones, in an area of 20"x40"... that's the screen. Ideas?

Thanks Seeds,
