I had these little buggers on the plant earlier when i just about a week into 12/12. I sprayed "Safer" brand insecticidal soap on my babies and it seemed to eradicate the thrips, but now, about 6 weeks later they are back, not as many as before, but there none the less. This spray states you can spray it on vegitables and fruits up to the day of harvest, but will it affect the taste if i get it all over the buds? I was thinking maybe I could spray them with the soap and then with a mist of water a few days afterwards to try to wash some of it off.....

Any advice? Sorry for no pics, no camera :(

How far are you away from harvesting??? I feel it shouldnt be a problem as long as you do it and use plain old distilled water for the last 2 WEEKS before you harvest at the minimum... hope i could help. Good luck!

Ya, I think I'm about 2 to 3 weeks away from harvest, maybe 4 but I doubt it.

I HAD THRIPS THIS LAST HARVEST. I GOT EM 4 WEEKS INTO FLOWER. SPRAYED EM, AND GOT RID OF EM ALL. BUT I STILL GIVE 5 SQUIRTS FROM THE CAN INTO THE ROOM, ONCE A WEEK. I STOPP THE WEEK BEFORE I HARVEST. CAN'T TASTE ANY RESIDUAL. GOOD LUCK WITH THEM LITTLE BASTARDS. THEY PUT MY HARVEST OF BY 2 WEEKS. PLANTS LOOKED LIKE HELL.

kill em as soon as you see them and you shouldn't have a prob.I would use that spray till about a week before harvest. If your plants can't handle that last week with out being sprayed, the bugs won.But that is very unlikely.I spray My plants with neem oil every few days.To be safe

If you have Hot Shot, no pest strips in your area they do a great job. I do not use them any longer then I have to though because it is a strong poison. I leave them in there for about two days after the infestation is gone and then put it back in the package. I know people who leave them hanging from day one, but I see no need to have the stuff floating around.

i had a mite infestation late into flowering years ago and a friend advised me to use my vacumn cleaner hose and gently suck em off...which i did and it worked! took all the webbing away too...everything but the eggs and some stragglers that hid well. but by far the majority were gone and without any pesticides or soap. i played around with it a bit and found if i used smoke (many sticks of incense in my case) it'll drive em out to the top and edges making it easier to suck em off the plant. then add some black flag or raid into the vacumn so they don't come back and your done for a few days...then repeat.
