Well, I'm thinking about growing with a 400w light...I was wondering what does the light bill usually go for when you have a freggin 400 watt light in your house on for like 18 hours a day lol.

I'm not too sure about a 400W bulb, but if you're going to be running that much light, you will need some sort of fan or cooling system as they do get very hot.
I just run a small 150hps here, and it costs me maybe $10 extra a month. So with a 400hps with some fans, about $40 extra a month, maybe less. Not a huge noticeable diff., so it's nothing to worry over.

So whats the extra $40 added upon to? What if the bill is like $290...$40 more doesnt hurt that bad but I rather not deal with the extra cash going down the drain lol.

You could easily compensate for a 150watt light. That's only 2-3 normal light bulbs depending on what watt you use for your regular lamps etc...All you have to do is conserve. 150 watt light shouldn't raise your light bill at all if you things right.

85 bucks? Lol that isnt expensive...In Michigan we use our regular lights around the house and it's fuckin like...100 somethin dolalrs. Thats why I'm trying to get a light bill report or what ever because if I can find some where that allows me to run high watt lights for as cheap as 85 bucks or more I'm moving there lol.

400 watts x 18 hours = 7200 watts per day
7200 x 30 = 216,000 watts per month (216KW)
Power in the US ranges from about 8 cents to 12 cents per KW
216 x $0.08 = $17.28
216 x $0.12 = $25.92

ya i know what blockhead is talking about, there was a calculator on OG..
alls ya gotta do is get the price per watt in your area.. usually 8-12 cents per KiloWatt(KW) per hour... so 400w hps would cost you (4x.12=.48/hr)
do i really have to type out the rest...? or do you understand what he was saying now?

48ยข per hour?...If this is what your saying it seems to good to be true. But the only other thing that uses electricity that would be on would be my computer and my fridge lol...I hope my electricity bill doesnt be that much.
