This is my plant.

it is 1 1/2 weeks old. how's it growing?

any takes on how I am growing? All I have done is plant the seed in high quality soil. I have a 125W light bulb that is specifically for growing plants shining on it for about 12-18 hours a day. I am keeping its environment at a good temp too. Soil is nice and wet too.

is there anything else I need to do w/it?

Keep it on 24/7 light cycle till flowering...

It looks alright from where i am sitting.

No, dont change its light cycle...Keep it on 18/6. Its more efficient in my eyes. What kind of light is it? Check my other post i put some info in there too.

Dont keep your soil wet all the time. Let the top layer dry out about an inch every now and then. It helps the plant strive to survive more. It will develop more healthy.

this is a white russian plant. How big should I let it get before I cure it?

Are there any precautions I need to take w/a white russian?

How much bud should it yield?

You can keep your lights at 24/0 or 18/6. There is much debate on which is better since many plants generate large amounts of fiber during dark hours. While keeping them on 24/7 will supply a larger amount of energy for growth. I have always used 24/0, but am now trying 18/6 to see if I can see a difference in growth rates. If you're using a 125w Grow Bulb, and it's not a compact flourescent light, you will need a much brighter source of light to get any buds out of it.

well that doesn't make much sense to me. I mean these things grow outdoors and in the wild. They don't always have the same conditions as I am giving it and it grows rampant.

I mean, how much more light can I possibly give? I can't go spending hundreds of bucks just on a set up.

Well, that is what you need to do to have good weed and a good yield... It takes some money.

Thats not what you NEED to do to grow good cannibis. I know people that grow some beaufitul buds off of nothing more than a good setup of CFs and some good soil..

But smoker4life you cant expect a large flowering plant to get the right nutrition it needs from a weak light source. A 125W growbulb is meant for, most likely, non-flowering, indoor plants. The grow light may be good for veggin, but if you intend to go into flowering you should put at LEAST like two Compact Flourescents on it..

Talk of outdoors in a new game. The sun sends lights more powerfull than a 1000 watt HID, this is why great yeilds and high thc is found from outdoor plants. And two to get a good grow off of cf will cost u less than 100.

How do I get all that stuff?

I mean I have my plant in my closet.

I was going to use two additional 200 watt bulbs along w/the 125 w Grow Bulb I have right now. In addition I was going to add in a fan too. I mean, what is the difference b/w regular light bulbs and all this fancy CFs and sodium and halide bulbs?

Do you think that will make a difference at all?

I have my set-up in my closet so there isn't much room. I have to have it there b/c my cats will kill the plant if I leave it in open space in a room.

Also, most of the flourescent bulbs I found in Home Depot aren't even stronger than 125 W.

What if I get one of those lamps at Home Depot that is a halogen lamp that outputs 500 W?

This is something like what I mean.

check it out

No, halogen lights are useless. Wattage means nothing. You want the most lumens possible. You want the red and blue spectrums of light. Halogen puts out too much white. The reason Flouros only take less than 120watts is because thats what they are designed to do. But a lot of them still produce plenty of lumens. I have two CFs that i got from homedepot that produce 2000lumens each. Thats plenty for one plant.

The difference between all the lights, is very simple. Ive already mentioned lumens. Well, the MH and HPS lights produce MUCH more lumens then CF lights ever could. However, CF lights are cheap, efficient and dont get hot. MH and HPS lights can get rather expensive and hot, needing money and more money for ventilation. Regular bulbs just dont cut it. They dont put out the right light spectrum for plants to complete a correct photosynthesis process.

If your interested in buying different setups, look around on ebay. Do a search for: MH Setups. Or if you prefer search for: HPS setups.
