has anyone else seen this stupid commercials?? they have this kid who put his whole fist in his mouth because he smoked pot, and theres this other one where a girl got like deformed, because she smokes pot and now shes lazy and shit.
what kind of crap is this?? is disinformation, is lying. They ignore the fact that alot of people smoke pot also go to college, work, play music, etc.
this "above the influence" shit really means "under our influence"

yea but the only ones who really listen to them are those severe-anti-drug wacko's that think 1 hit of weed will kill you... even people who aren't for drugs.. can look at those commercials and be like "i think they're over-exagerating just a tad bit" ....any of those anti drug commercials i just laugh at... way i see it they're the ones missing out on something great... according to them, i should do every stupid thing someone tells me, i "crumble under pressure" i let everybody else make my decisions and i don't voice my opinon, all because i smoke weed... see i just laugh at it cuz it's so ridiculous..
main irritating this is how they are mostly about weed/pot heads... and i'm not saying any drug is going to make you act like the media puts out....
but everyone knows there's a hell of a lot worse drugs then mj...

haha, that new commercial is funny, and kinda cool when all the people were whizzing by after he ruined his life by taking that first hit. Seriously, these people will try anything to get their agenda across to the youth of america. Too bad most of the young impressionable kids will take some of this as fact and remember it for years to come like it actually is true.

Yeah, the part that I don't get most of all is that they COMPLETELY ignore all the other drugs out there and only focus on weed. I mean, they know that crack/heroin and all that other stuff if so much worse, so why do they focus so much on weed? Maybe they actually believe that gateway drug business and think that if they stop people at the beginning that it'll stop folks from doing the harsher drugs.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense though. By not saying anything at all about the other drugs out there, they are basically saying that it is okay to do. Little kids will think that weed is worse for you than heroin or something, and might start to do the real bad drugs in lieu of weed.
These commericals are not only offensive to us in principle, but they're actually creating MORE problems than they are trying to fix. Way to go.

these commercials are stupid, its just more government propaganda, somebody needs to take the legalization effort alittle bit farther and make commercials with the benifits of it

Just propaganda. I have a good chuckle sometimes at those commercials. I'd love to see someone stick a fist in there mouth! I knew one guy, he was all coked up all the time, and he could take a strand of spagetti, put it up his nose and out his mouth :p I know this has nothing to do with prop., but I thought I'd bring it up.
I think these commercials just fool the uneducated mind. When I was 12, I thought MJ was a bad thing, but you never find out for sure until you do it for yourself. Then when I did, I read more and more about it and realized it doesn't make me feel bad, or make sick...it makes me feel good. Damn good! Isn't having a beer the same thing as smoking a joint? To relax, and escape reality?
So, let the fools the be fooled, but until they have a toke, they shouldn't say shit!

exactly the kind of nonsense i would expect from someone under the influence of marijuana.
didnt you know that every time you smoke a joint, you become 5x more likely to spontaneously deflate?
the more you know..

"Being above the influence is about being yourself - and not letting people pressure you into being less than you."
My decisions to drink, smoke (tobacco), and smoke (mj) have all been mine. They were made out of curiosity and were initiated by me. I enjoy them, so I keep doing them. Thanks Above the Influence, I'm going to take your advice and not let anyone pressure me into being less than me.

Agreed. But the networks would probably only show them between 1am and 3am, when only the stoners are awake and the kiddies and grownups are asleep in their beds.
At least the "Say No to Drugs" shit is going away.

I don't think they're anything wrong with those commercials.
They seem outrageous, but in reality it's not. Those commercials are for all the dumb people who can't think for themselves. Those people shouldn't smoke anyway. I'm not one of those people that believes everyone should smoke, and not one of those people that believe everyone shouldn't smoke. I'm right smack in the middle. Your own choice.
The argument should be that they should let pro-pot ads run along with them, or have neither ads from either side of the fence.

They always focuse on the worst case senarios... I mean, anyone could do the same thing with alcohol. I'll bet I could come up with an anit-alcohol video that makes weed seem like a walk in the park...

Yeah, good lord. Why are they wasting money on marijuana commercials when they should be making commercials for drugs that fuck your life up, i.e. Meth

I still don't think the commercials are justified whether or not it only affects dumb people. It's those dumb people who are nicely brainwashed to make sure people like us keep going to jail for doing something harmless.
