The Global Seedbank (Amsterdamseeds.com) doesn't sell feminized seeds for the reasons you mentioned. I cannot verrify it is true, but for what it is worth the following is verbatim from their web site:
"Stress in general can cause, or increase the chance of, hermaphrodism.
However, in recent years, the most common source of hemaphrodite plants is
the overpriced, overhyped appearance of 'feminised' seeds.
These seeds are always made with at least one hermaphrodite parent plant.
Any such process must always pass on the hermaphrodite tendency to the
progeny.
The funniest/most infuriating thing about feminised seeds is that they
usually go for double the price of the normal version of the same variety.
That means for the same price you can buy two packets of regular seeds, do a
little selecting, and have the same number or more, higher quality female
plants."
The difference with Global Seeds is that we are keeping the trust of our customers by making sure our seeds give them what they expect. We concentrate on ripeness, freshness, and size, and we strive to make strains grow out true. Our goal is to maximize the yield our customers get.
