What did you think of Salvia?

I've never tried salvia yet, but I'm really interested. however I was just reading some informative websites about it and most say that the majority of people who try it find the experience unpleasant and don't do it again. I was wondering what all the experienced people here have thought of it, if the experience was pleasant, etc. also I would like to know if it's possible to take a low enough dose to have a high but not get absolutely blasted out of coherence?

hey there im new... But when i got salvia we used a regular lighter and i didnt enhale good cuz the pupe we used for it was shit, but i know from friends that if smoked correctly its a hell of a trip, im hoping to do it again somtime.

It's always unpleasent feeling but that's not the point. Alot of people get scared cause it's too much to handle, and those who don't still feel uncomfortable but they just embrace it as a part of the trip. Salvia is intense but if you can cope with it's overwhelming intensity then you can be one of those people who actually get something out of it, and not one of the people who blurt out how sucky Salvia is because they didn't gain any insight of it was uncomfortable. Insight doesn't just come with the trip, you have to know what to look for... especially with Salvia and DMT because they are both overwhelmingly harsh and the trip is over within 10 minutes. People don't know what to make of Salvia, because it's so bizarre, but there is something you can learn from it... maybe how to deal with bad shit coming up right to your face and making you feel small, cause that's kinda how you feel... Salvia comes up to you and says "are you ready for this cause if you're not well WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE ANYWAY?![/Demonvoice]

Don't do it as a recreational drug-- it's too heavy a mindfuck for that. Do it in a comfortable setting where you can lie down and go catatonic for a while. Smoke it with a torch lighter, through water, and hold the hits for as long as possible.

That said, I found it really scary the first time I did it, because the hallucinations seemed so real and I felt so out of control.

The second time I did it was in a friend's bedroom. I took the hit and lay down on his bed-- and proceeded to take off into inner space. It was scary again, but I knew I was in a safe place, and just let the trip take me where it would. I'd say I learned a lot from the trip, solely in the way it bent the rules of my reality. It was as if I was transported to an alien world, and trying to figure out the physics and rules of my "trip world" provided some great insight into the way my mind works, and how many assumptions I make about reality.

The closest example I can compare it to (and I apologize in advance for the nerdiness) is studying Non-Euclidean Geometry, or geometry on the surface of a sphere. On a plane, the angles of a triangle add up to 180. On a sphere, you can have a shape that is very clearly a triangle--it has four sides-- but has 3 90 degree angles. Similarly, you can have a rectangle with four sides and four right angles, but the sides aren't parallel, as there are no parallel lines on a sphere.

Comparing that to regular geometry was a lot like comparing my trip to reality: some things were how they should be, and others were far from it, thus providing an enlightening and interesting brain exercise in separating reality from assumption-- a lesson I carry with me to this day.

Like I said earlier--treat this stuff with the respect it deserves.

The first time i took 2 monster tokes and blacked out and when i came to I was sweating profusly... I thought at that point I was just going to never do it again... I tried it again yesterday but in a easy mellow more controlled way,small easy hits off the pipe... The results was a color spectrum before my eye for about 10 minutes and then numbness for another 10... I think you have to experiment to get the best effects for you... I am going to do some more now,I am going to go easy hits until I can't hit anymore :stoned: :stoned: :stoned:

Salvia like im sure someone said is not for the "high". it is scary. salvia is in my opinion one of the most powerful drugs on the planet, if you do it right you will be gone for way more than 5 mins, dont believe that shit. \

The first time it will most likely be very scary, but the key is grasping reality without resisting the trip. a good method is picturing what you look like in the third person. others can elaborate on this.

another great trip is to have a large digital clock nearby so u can look at it during the trip. the thing that scared me the most was that i had no idea how much time had gone by.

think before you do this, it will leave you contemplating your trip for days. read my thread "salvia changed my life" in the recreational board.

sorry for the double post but i also forgot to mention the sweating thing. its true. my face started burning the fuck up and i was incredibly scared. for a full 30 minutes i truly thought i was going to die. this shits fucked up man, i am glad i took the trip because it has truly enlightened me but i doubt ill do it again.

I've never experienced the sweating that everyone talks about... have no idea why.

Also, it seems to me the most importent thing above all else (Torch and water cooled bong) is holding in your hits. The longer you hold it in, the stronger it will be in effect, from my experience.

Salvia is quite a mindfuck, fucks you so hard you'll be lucky if there is anything left after sally is done with your pansy ass little brain ive already gone into detail about my trips so i wont do that again however Salvia 35x is about 100 times as strong as 2 hits of acid its just 100 times shorter.

I couldn't make it work with the leaves alone, followed all the online directions and such. I later bought the 5X and it wigged me out a bit the first time, didn't like where it was going. Anyway, I didn't take it any farther due to the lack of a suitable partner to babysit.

One thing I did like, toking a bowl of the leaf (dry, not through a water bong), and then smoking hash (or was it vice versa?). That was really nice, there was the start of reality breakdown (the wood ceiling started to wiggle) without complete disconnection, it was fun. That's a word you don't normally associate with salvia, not exactly a recreational drug. Pot's suppose to wipe out the effects, but I didn't find that to be so, at least it didn't render it impotent. Anyway, not an expert obviously, but for what it's worth.

I smoked 22x my first time. It was super intense, I was sitting there with my girlfriend taking the biggest hit possible out of our bong, then all of a sudden, I was a color. On top of that, I was in the most intense all out color war that ever happened. I can't explain besides that. And in the midst of the trip, my girlfriend who was also a color, died. I actually wept, then a few minutes later came out of my trip.

yea i thought it was common knowledge that salvia had to be heated to a higher temp and that you need atleast 15x to even feel anything
