i bought my ipod 1.5 years ago and the earbuds that came with the ipod just plain suck. i accidentally put it through the washer but thats besides the point. SO BASICALLY, I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR A PAIR OF QUALITY EARBUDS OR OVER THE EAR HEADPHONES
well basically, im looking for a new pair of earbuds or headphones. my preference is earbuds or behind the ear headphones. nothing that will be on my hair and mess it up. i have a price range of about $20-$30 but as long as it has good sound quality and is durable enough to withstand.
the problem with the ipod earbuds is from the cheap plastic wire covers they use. when the earbuds split into two separate wires for each ear, the plastic tends to come off easily (exposing the wire underneath the plastic). so i would prefer a pair of headphones that are durable because the plastic from my ipod earbuds started coming off after 2 months.
any links to the product where it can be purchased would help me out a lot
thanks to everyone who helps me out with a suggestion

i find ipod headphones to be of good sound quality, but terrible mechanical durability.
theyre always breaking... they blow on max volume on the ipod.. youd think theyed make a headphone that can withstand max volume..

There's no use in spending money on high quality phones for an iPod because it has been proven by Cnet that the Digital-Analog converters that determine the quality of the sound in the iPod are inferior to the competitors (those being DAPs suchas the SONY NW-HD5 and the iRiver h320), but if you want comfortable ones that don't mess up your precious hair, just go to circuitcity.com and read the reviews of people who've already bought some.

i really have had no problems with my ipod headphones id just buy another set of those, small and decent, and as for the sound quality, the difference in my opinion isnt really noticeable, many people bash the ipod for sound quality not being as good and it being really expensive just for the name brand, im not really denying that statement but i bought my ipod like a year after they came out, there wasnt anything better on the market then

Koss makes very good headphones in all price ranges. I have their top model, ESP 950, but even the twenty dollar porta-pro is very good.

I have Dell MP3 player and the headphones it came with were busted within 6months. Sounded like shit too!
I have a pair of Sony headphones I use. I use to play the turntables so they're super nice sound, and comfy to wear.
As for earbuds, when I'm out and about, I have a pair of Panasonic ones. They seem to be good and holding up. I just got them at the Source here in town for $25. High price, but worth it.

I hope you learned from your mistake that all dell products suck

Get the Koss KSC-75 ($20), or the Sony EX-71 OR 81 earbuds. Trust me they blow the apple earbuds out the water in all aspects (bass, sound clarity, treble, etc.) The Sony's even block out a substantial amount of outside noise so you dont have to turn up the ipod volume as much in a noisy environment. Trust me on this. You'll never go back and will actually get to truely hear your music for the first time.

yah if you want some good headphones, be prepared to shell out some cash for 'em. I'd say also look into what you mainly use your iPod and headphones for, like say at work in a dishroom like me or walking in downtown chicago versus alone in your room. Most of those noise-cancelling ones are really bulky, so it would be impractical to get those if you are outside walking around really. That's just me though. Just go to apple.com/store and read the reviews of some of the headphones.

thanks for your help everyone but i bought these panasonic ones for (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5844181940&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1) $15 shipped.
as long as it doesnt have shitty plastic wire covers that comes off while doing active things, any pair of earbuds should be fine but i read on circuitcity.com that these earbuds got good reviews

*ahem* I happen to like Dell and their products. I have a Dell computer and what other kind would I get, an apple? Plus, my MP3 player has a metal outer shell. All the other ones I see like, like Ipods, are made of plastic, that equal shit.

Sorry but you made a mistake purchasing those. They'll barely be better than the ipod ones, if at all. If you want bang for your buck without compromising performance get these: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Koss-Sportsclip-Stereophones-KSC75-/sem/rpsm/oid/124987/catOid/-12938/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
