I hearby swear that if I win the powerball or any portion of said powerball I will donate 50% to charity. These charities will be chosen by my wife and daughter.

You'll have to convince the wife and daughter that you are a legitimate charity. The only place I will draw the line is giving money to the church(s). This however does not preclude giving money to a convent or monastery for whatever their needs are as long at it does not end up in Rome. The Vatican already has enough money.

fuckin money hungry teens..
to op: i congratulate you on a nobel idea.. tho i somehow think (which it'd only be natural) you say that in hopes you'd win, even if half went to charity you'd still gain from it, dont' get the wrong idea, i'm not saying it's something bad....
well, if you do i win i hope you hold to your end of the deal, for your karam's sake... also, might i suggest you, your wife and your daughter sit down and decide which charity (local or national) is the most in need, or if you can't find that out, which would be spread amongst people who need money most, and not just one "group" (i.e. some benifit children in other countries, some benifit medical needs and so on, while some, benifit a wide multitude of all combined)

to those who are asking for the money, i condemn you seriously (well not like seriously condemning you or anything but it sure as hell isn't cool) this guy is talking about giving money to a orginization that will support helping people who have very little or nothing and need help.. whereas you obviously have a decent enough life, you have a computer/internet obviously.. that's a luxury most of the people sponsored by these organizations could only dream of, as well as their own house with all the basic needs such as water, electricity and gas.

Thanks Slipknot but don't be too hard on the boys and girls. I was just having some fun with a thread since I know what my odds are of winning. Somewhere between slim and none. But I really did promise the fates or gods or whoever that I would give half to charity, if I should win. But I must admit that my intentions are only half-way magnanamous...I'm tired of working for other people.

well, you'd be suprised how karma/gods/fate decides to change things when it's not completely selfish... don't get your hopes up, but i feel (and almost know) you stand a way better chance of winning then the person who plays that has a half decent job they don't completely hate that if they won would just spend the money on themselves... as for never working for someone else =/ i'm sure you wise enough to know this already as i know it and am only 20 with a wife and son... that you can't live off one lucky winning forever... if i were you, i'd invest in something... tho what i couldn't tell you, i wouldnt' say stock... if it were me, i'd start my own buisness... that is in high need (or atleast in need) in my city and others surrounding... of course, if your city had 5-6 do-nut shops around, you wouldnt' want to start one (as a point of refrence by what i mean) if your city doesn't have one >.> perhaps a headshop? o.0
