it depends on the damage and the age of the plant and the harm inflicted, but typically, a new growth will form close to where you eliminated it to capture the gap in the light. if you want a little more specific answer, ask a followup question...

No, once you pull that shoot from that node it will not grow back. But it will take all the energy used to make that bud and put it into the remaining buds. You'll get less if you do it too early or too much so its best to wait, and harvest the plant as a whole THEN smoke it.

it will be alot better if you wait till its mature before you smoke it, now if you cut off a stem like with just leaves or small buds on it you can make clones, and the mother will be fine

Its quite difficult to clone during flowering.

i figured it'd be best to cut clones during veg and flower them.... that way i can find wat plants are male/female before i flower the mother... how would it be hard??

The plant is already half way through flowering thats why. If it has bud that you want to smoke on it then its half way through flowering. If you cut a clone and try to veg it, It will try to keep flowerign and when it can't it may switch but most likely would die.

you should wait till the bud is mature before smoking it...i know, it's right there but patience is a virtue... i tried cutting some off early my first grow...it wasn't nearly as good as when i waited till it was finished curing...

well this is MY first grow, so i'm sure u can understand my impatience lol
i can wait tho.. but thanks for the heads up bout the buds forming halfway thru.. so if i cut clones during veg, i should be fine, right?

Yes. You should only take clones during vegetative stage. If you're already into flowering and decide that you really want clones from a certain plant then you should finish flowering the plant and when you harvest it leave some of the bottom leaves on the plant and switch it back to 24 hours of light. (reveging). When you see some new growth starting you can take your clones.
