San Fran, sounds good, but howfar is it to the country (affordable self substainment)? I am done living in cities, but outside one for the occasional roadFIX...we are looking parcels of land in Oregon; At Christmas Valley (S Central) and Outside Klamath Falls in the Fremont National Forest. Any one know the area?

Colorado. See: Colorado Department of Health, Medical Marijuana Registry. But please note that the federal Government can still bust you for growwing and possession in Colorado. Fuckers.

colorado was top 3, but limits and co-op oppurtunity in Oregon appears to be the best and they are progressing in the right direction...lw

I have found potential property in the following areas...Anybody out there?
1. colorado-the areas around Trinidad?

2. Oregon, the Klamath Falls area?

3. Kali, I found small parcels around Lake Arrowhead and around Cali city...Anyone have comments about local laws and county direction on the MMJ issue?

We are also thinking of starting a small self-substantial, community, if we can find likely interested parties.
Check this site out!!!

I am intrigued with this type of living...It is just short of a 60's commune...lol

We are selling this house and moving up there our selfâ??s in a few months.

I don't know of campsites in Arrowhead that's area is pretty exclusive and Arrowhead Lake is private. We owned a cabin there for about 10 years but sold it like 5 years ago. Now we are looking for another one again but in the other areas of the mountain. Big Bear is where the public lake is. Plus Big Bear is where the ski hills & snowboard parks are too.

Just a thought, but we are open to anywhere out there, and if we could start out with a couple friends...It would make the big cross-country move a lot less tenuous. :) later.lw

funny thing Z, Klamath Falls is on east side of mountain range...only rains 65 days a year there...wierd topographical thing...lol

Well, In California; What co's should I look at property? I have read that some county gov's are trying to revert to old negative MMJ
politics. Anyone?

I am very open to Cali...I just want inexpensive country land...Rather than a big fancy energy 'CHOMPING' house...We are putting our money in solar/wind/hydro powered greenhome and add-on cabin style home as possible.

My dream is to have a small frontier style Fort-like self substantial community... modeled after Woody's community in Hawaii. I totally agree with WH...If we all would take these tiny little steps; (many Hollywood and International celebs are leading the way.)
I saw Julia Louis Dreyfus, last night on a talkshow and even she lives in a green house. It is so efficient, that even though she has a grid-back-up type system, the meter runs backward! This means that BigBrother Elec.co. is paying you for using Solar/Wind/Hydro producing systems, to power your home.

thanks all, keep this thread alive. Will check back for info later.lw:smokin:

ebay has real estate listed too...bought my arizona home on it one year ago and it was a very smooth transaction. but unless one have a fat wallet or a good job and credit, the cali house market might be pretty rich for most. ebay and craigslist.com should give you a good idea of what you're getting into and give you some ideas on where you might want to check into further...

We are not looking to buy a house. I will build room by room if I have to.

But as I stated above; Del, We are going to build maybe 2 room cabin...outbuilding for storage indoor nursery/terrarium, etc. and go solar...I already figured I can run the set-up I have now and the house-designed with energy friendly appliances and a well thought out power-budget for 20-30,000 bucks... :) :D

I have 2 lots main stree big bear, ca. by a big church. and thinking about going back there from Tn... if things work out this summer. and then to the north ca. looking for a river to use,

I have 2 lots main stree big bear, ca. by a big church. and thinking about going back there from Tn... if things work out this summer. and then to the north ca. looking for a river to use,the trick is finding land you can build "on" next to a river...that is the hard part,
water tables and septic concerns are a big issue in then thar' parts.

Like I said...I am looking to find a few people that would like to form a small "green community" within reason. I believe the slogan "live and let live, well." would be a good place to start the covenants. lw

OK, I did some research on emerald triangle and yes, I could live there...problem is, I searched land out that way...All I want is undeveloped land that can be built on.

planning solar/wind power, so electric is optional.

anyone out that way, or you guy's that responded...If you can find some local contact online sites or ads let me know, thanks.lw

thanks litespeed...this is a big help...

Here is a major concern. On any given piece of property; We need to know:
1. How close is Electric to property(this allows us to calculate cost of running grid to property)?
2. what are Zoning laws in area: As far as building?

3. Is property in an area of standard septic or septic denial's?

I appreciate the help you are providing...If this works, there'll be some buddage in it for you when we meet.
later lw Oh yeah, I am checking that site you linked...I find them all the time, but you never know if it is a scam!

thanks

You are looking @ solar

take a pipe 20 ft long x 16 in. put ends on it , put 3 ,1 in... pipes in bottom half bring it down to 21 inchs of mercry and then put in [ ro water ] 1/2 full... @ 6 deree F it will get 225 degrees all the heat you will need... I do not know the balance point. set it on blocks no light needed just cold,,, Mother Earth, had it in there mag. about 91 93, mine worked well till it die. my home is 2220sqft. and it would get hot 95 to 110 in,, out side about -15 degrees
