I've already read some accounts of 2c-i trips on erowid. Still, if there is anyone with some experience with this drug, Is there anything a person should know about it before trying?
From what I've read, the trips are generally positive and enlightening. I'm a little worried about the ecstacy-like effects of 2c-i. I know, some of us don't think there's anything wrong with ecstacy... I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've never rolled before. And any discussion about it screwing your seratonin receptors or whatever - even if its untrue, raises some flags.
So basically, I'm wondering if there's any reason to think 2c-i would have the same effect on your brain (assuming its true in the first place).
That, and any more info. you think would be helpful to know about it. Thanks.

i dont think you should have too much short or long term problems if u take the right dosage. just dont OD. i havent done2c-i, but if ur worried about the ecstasy effects, ive done e, and there usually isnt a problem unless u take like 10 pills at once or something.

Just go easy on it, and you should be ok.

2c-i is a far comparsion away from Ecstacy. Comedowns are light unlike Ecstacy, and as far to my knowledge, it doesn't screw serotonin receptors.
I taken 2c-i over 2 dozens times. The only side effect you should worry about it HPPD, but you gotta take a load of psychedelics like I once did. Try to space your experiences out, doing it from week to week will dampen your spirituality.

I've only done 2C-E and it didn't feel very much like MDMA. It was actually rather depressing and made me feel as if time was standing still and the future was non-existant. It was somewhat dissociative and there was no come down.
2C-I effects will differ though and I've heard it feels cleaner.

2C-I is a "research chemical", a phenethylamine first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin that has not been used as extensively as drugs like MDMA or LSD. There is an entire 2C-x series from 2C-B to 2C-T-9. A handful of them such as 2C-I, 2C-C, 2C-E and 2C-B-fly along with hallucinogens of the tryptamine chemical family are available through online chemical vendors.
Many of these substances havn't been around for much more than a decade, while they are related to controlled substances they are not specifically listed as illegal. Possession or sale of them could be prosecuted under the 1986 Federal Analogue act, however, and a couple incidents involving misuse of the chemicals led to Operation Web Tryp.
Online vendors were selling these substances from within the United States, and before July of 2004 anybody living in the states had full access to them. Now they are much harder to acquire, only available overseas. The one legit resource I had recently shut down.

Thanks for the responses so far. My mind has been put to ease.
As for getting ahold of 2c-i, you might ask for "Epitaph", as my man called it. It's still a relatively new drug, and not very much is known about it (hence this thread). I'm in Minneapolis, MN, and for $25 I got a 20mg pill of epitaph from a friend who'd done it several times. Spendy, but supposed to be worth it if you dig analytical and introverted trips instead of highly-visual ones.

Dude even if it did screw up your serontin receptors I'm pretty sure it is only with repeated use.

I don't mean to discredit what everyone has said, but after digging around on erowid some more, I came across this. Just thought anyone considering taking Epitaph, especially anyone with thyroid problems, should probably take a look at it:

That damned Iodine atom...

2c-i has iodine just like meth and it messes your brain up over long periods of time. 2c-i is a RC and no one is sure of its side-effects so dont say its safe and dont worry cause you should not take RC drugs lightly.

I did some DOC recently, a pyschedelic amphetamine. It is certainly some powerful shit... really blew my mind away. It made me feel like everything I ever knew or experienced was comming at me in one moment over and over again. Took the drug on a Friday night at 9pm, felt like I was in another dimension until I went to sleep at 10pm the next night.

Damn, SWIAJ sold it for $10, no wonder he couldn't keep it in stock. It's nothing like X, except that it's kinda speedy. The visuals are similar to 2c-e, but mentally it's much milder. I'm unaware of it having a common street name, people around here just call it "that weird shit Andy can get", but there is still a place or two which still sell it over the net.
