God bless you!!! (hate crime)

I am not sure if anyone here is aware of this but recently a town in Iowa (i forgot the name) wants to make it a hate crime to say God bless you when somebody sneezes. They say it is offensive to those who are not christian or do not believe in God. Personally i am very confused over this political correctedness issue everywhere. I believe no religion should be favored more than another and that no religion should be forced upon any body. But what gets me is when these people try to make it illegal to speak of God. I mean i totally respect someone elses opinion if they do not believe in God, but i mean come on. I believe it is like 80 or 85% of the USA calls themselves christians. That means they say they belive in God and that Jesus Christ is the son of God. I believe the next biggest religion is Judaism which also believes in the same god as christianity. I read only about 5 or 10% of this country calls themselves atheist. From my understanding that means that they do not believe in any god nor do they follow any religion. Now i ask, why should i have to stop saying God in the pledge of allegiance, remove it from my money, and refrain from telling others that i wish for my God's blessing upon them when they sneeze? Whatever happened to majority rules??:question: :what:

In a Idolic world, under $$$ control , we find the curses.
God...what God?...which God?,...for humans have made many Gods....
Which God is over USA?...the land of the free? where you can be imprisoned for sowing a seed, that God the father of creation made Good...
Where every road toward peaceful solutions are denied...and forgotten!
Using underhanded tricks, and back door deals, to have their puppet masters instilled in other nations...to cause upheaval, and hatred round the world...forcing this democracy that doesn't work, if your honest about it, into effect!
You are not free!...you are a pawns, a hurbert, a number, a pesant...expendable digit...in a numbers game.
Your religion is going to be changed, by holding this Idol in your hand, and using it for your own selfishness.
Once this happens, you are then possesed by it's charms...you work hard for this money, and yet they are always taking from your hand a part in taxes, to keep the bloodshed flowing!

What God is this that they say they are under?
That should be everyones question today.:rasta:
Breaking the commandments, and saying we are free from God is more the picture perfect postcard image I see!

PC run amock. It's sad really when we become so afraid to be honest because we don't want to get sued for hurting someones feelings. I don't think saying God bless you when someone sneezes is a religious term anymore. Now it's just being polite.

Of course, when a first grader gets tossed from school for kissing agirl on the cheek or just touching her what do we expect? Everyones gun shy these days.

That's a rediculous law. If I proposed a legislation making it a crime for a muslim to say "allah bless you" or a hindu to say something like "ghanesh be with you" I'd be called a racist. If somebody believes in god and says "god bless you", that's not forcing you to believe it, they're just saying something nice from what they believe in. hey I know, we'll make it a crime for Irish to say "good luck"!

This is insane! The very phrase itself is used as a way of being polite! And since when has saying ANYTHING been a crime.

If this is real, this is damn petty :(

I would like a link to a news site or something to tell if this really is true. I typed in all sorts of related keywords and phrases into google and nothing came up, nor does cnn have anything.

We were talking about it in class the other day. My teacher said he heard it on the radio. I think its like that mancow guy who broadcasts out of chicago but its in a lot of other cities. Apparently the radio host had a bunch of people call in about it and i think he might have spoken to the guy who proposed that law, but im not sure.

It won't fly. It is lame. But I believe someone would try to pass a law like that. If people are going to sue McDonalds for not warning them that their coffe was hot, they will try to pass a lame law. The president tried to ammend the constitution (which is supposed to be are backbone to rights) to discriminate against homosexuals!

Nothing suprises me anymore.
