I bought some Psilocybe cyanescens spores a while back from http://shayanashop.com and now I have a pound(over 1000g!!) of fresh cap to my name. All in three weeks, without hardly any care at all, indoors. No need for lights, air vents, co2 etc. just find shady spot and make sure all your equiptment is sterile! Best part is, that website ships the spores to the U.S., so no more trouble for us Americans finding good shrooms :D I suggest you stock up now, the DEA is watching this as they are alot of other currently "legal" substances...

It might be possible to start a small colony but different shrooms like different substrates so it would be almost impossible to succesfully yeild anything off of the dust the first time

It's so fuckin' easy mate, with cyanescens especially because they don't like cow shit nope only grow in molchy woody areas, so no worries about other wierd fungi that might pop up. I have two 5 gallon tubs filled with wood chips and a constant supply of shrooms, all I have to do is keep the buggers moist

Hmmm next time i acquire some i think i will try for the heck of it. If i can even get a small growth i can take spores from them and turn it into alot. Good thing there is an infinite amount of moist, shady places in the woods down the block  .

Hell yes, they are good mushrooms. I don't know if it's these especially or... if it's the fact that cyanescens have the highest concentration of psilocybin and psilocin of alll mushroom species..

Make sure all your equiptment, and the area AROUND your grow is sterile. I would try making your own substrate with vermiculite and brown rice flour... read up on erowid, they have lot sof good info

I usually see little shrooms popping up after the third day of applying the spores, then they nearly double in size by the day until harvest (2-3 weeks)

good job rasta--I hope you will send me a few dried as soon as possible!
take some spore prints too--use an index card that is nuked in the microwave for a minute to sterilize it then place a cap on it over night with a glass over it to avoid contamination.
cyanescens grow wild here in the woods but rarely do you see a colony like that in the wild

I definitely will, man, It's amazing what you can learn. I hate to say it but I think mushroom cultivation is by far more interesting then marijuana cultivation-- both of which I can do fully. There's just something about actually SEEING the shrooms grow. Have you tried indoor cultivation? What do you use for your substrate? I know how to take prints, I was fascinated by the prospect at first, even doubtful. Boy was I wrong

Me too. Been pickin cow shit shrooms for years and never tried to grow my own. I was fortunate enough to live up the road from a beef cattle farm. They fed the cows corn.
How Much Stem did you get?
The stems are just as good you know. No real difference between them gram for gram.

i feel the same way about the growing. For the longest time i was afraid of mushrooms, even when i would eat em to trip, touching live mushrooms scared the shit out of me. yea it was a weird phobia

Thanks rasta--let me know--
I do grow mushies indoors, I use vermiculite and organic brown rice. I will post some recent pics of my mycelium soon. I personally love growing shrooms, esp indoors, it is so cool watching the mycelium grow then the babies start to pop out! It is a very neat thing

Ok I can see this thread Is obviously going to result in a ton of people IMing me for growing instructions... Well I'm not about to type up a grow guide just for any person, so save yourself some time and check out this handy guide from erowid http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_mmgg.shtml

Do you just let the shrooms sit until they dry or do you use a blow dryer or something? Probably a stupid question

Your so lucky....me and my friend want to grow them but we have no where to grow in our houses, but you say cyaneasis (sorry cant spell whien im high) grow well outdoors in woodchips? We are afraid of first, them not growing well outdoors in ohio and 2 that they will get infected or others might pop up without us knowing and we might poison ourselves. Ima look up cyaneasis or whatever, they grow around here.

actually, i remember seeing some very similar to those last year. I thought they could be the same kind, they were growing next to a dead huuuuuge ass tree stump in woodchips, in like 8 colonies of like 100. If they pop up next year ill look into those too.

Only problem for me now is getting spores..

RastaKaze, I'm a bit confused. You said you can do outdoors with woodchips right? But then you're talking about keeping equipment sterile and stuff.

Does the outdoor woodchip method work?

This is from the site link you gave:

Psilocybe Cyanescens Spawn bag - The Wavy-capped mushroom The easyest Growset available in the market! For Outdoor mushrooms! It lasts for several years

Effects
Produces 2-3 flushes of mushrooms every season and the harvest increases year after year!

Usage
Buy a bag of woodchips and choose a shady spot in your garden, mix the spawn bag with the chips and keep them wet! Is that simple or what?

Actually azurescens have the highest of all mushroom species. But if you can grow cyanescens, you can grow azurescens. They're cultivated in the exact same manner. You make me want to start growing mushrooms again. Now that I live with my parents though, I don't think they'd approve. ;)

My house is way to hot to grow shrooms (the kind of heat air conditioning can't fix, if ya know what I mean), but outdoor growing is something I definately have to try.

I thought Azureacens (sp - whatever) or Liberty Caps had the higher concentration of psilocin. And still a high concentration of Psilocybin... not as high as Cyans but still higher then most Mushrooms.

Somebody already covered that... whoops.

I think you have to live up north to grow that type. We grow cubensis in the gulf states. I tried it and got one and a half flushes. Not very many, but they turned blue instantly. Much easier to pick out of cow shit.

I've ordered spores, twice, from two different companies. Both arrived. It's been over six months. Done grown 'em, done, and everything. Never had a problem or felt watched or anything. Guess it'd be smarter to get someone to order them for you, so it doesn't ship to the same place as it's grown. You may get in more trouble if you get caught than with weed, but most cops don't know what to look for when it comes to shrooms.
I grew 'em with my mouth shut. Now I'm done and I can tell people it ain't worth a shit. You're better picking them wild.
It may be different for people up north.

heh i could use some spores my self so bad, if got any to spare hit me up at [email protected] or AIM me.

i haven't grown them babies in so damn long it's ridicules. (I hope i can remember how, because i hate reading)

BTW: Nice grow man, WAY bigger then mine (I used the rice cake one before) i am very interested in the way you grew them, because you have a ton. and it's getting pretty hot out enough now, and i got wood areas.
