Plants will grow 2 to 3 times their size when put into flowering... so if you've got a 3 foot monster when veggin'... get ready for a new xMas tree.

To control height, you can LST, try SoG (Sea of Green), SCRoG (Screen of Green), and/or topping/FIMing.

In order to grow the shortest plants, keep the lights as close as possible. With fluorescent lights, you can allow the plants to be extremely close without harming them, just dont grow them into the plant. If using metal halide or HPS lights, the plants need to be farther away. I use a 400W metal halide and keep the plants 8 inches away. If your hand feels too hot when placed on top of the plant for 30 seconds, its too close. You must raise the lights about every day.

If your lights are too far away, the plants will stretch.

Peace.

You should be growing your plant with at least 16 hours per day. You can force your plant to create buds by switching to a 12/12 light cycle. If you have strong lighting, wait at least 4 weeks. Bigger plants = bigger buds. You'll be glad if you wait 8 weeks.

Never inturrupt the darkness period, this is very harmful to bud production.

when you have your plant as high as you want it bearing in mind it can double in size when you flower you can top it. this means taking the tallest stem and cutting across the new growth... the mass of finger looking leaves that grow straight up before opening up and out to be leaves. if you take it all out you will get two new branches from the side leaves that remain, if you take half of it out you can somtimes make upto 6 new branches that will all grow buds. also in doing this you give the shorter side branches an opportunity to get to a similar hight to that 1 meaning you get better light to more of the plant.

i hope that makes sense i cant be arsed reading through it coz its very late, and its quite hard to describe.

neway good look

Bigger plants does not mean bigger buds it just means more. The light source and nutrients and many other factors decide that.
