You got chocolate, I got hydro
Mix it with that sticky green and better get my eyes low
[J-Drama]
Cypher movin come on, three paws and pass
You gettin happy with my trees like I got tons of grass
Roll up, stop frontin and burn some of that chocolate
Mix with that sticky green with that and squak it
Tell me how you like it, from here it smells good
If it ain't to your pleasure, I got 'dro and backwards
Another drink, bartender to hennecy hit the spot
You ain't got to love the fam, just watch how we rock
I puff pot and keep my head low from the cops
I walk from any hood it's straight John Blaze ya block
I'm J-Drama baby, I stay blowin the ganja baby
Me and the marley smoke mad bags of marijuana baby
JnJ and LB, in the year 2G

Fella please, you ain't ready to puff

Kids are funny.
A kid wouldnt understand the concept.
When MC's go mainstream...they sell out to the mainstream audience. They make music and consider what the people want to hear....not what they think sounds good. They all wanna sound like someone else...and thats whoevers the most popular. The bad part is...going that road is what leads to the most money....thats why groups like GangStarr are so dope because they are able to keep their shit underground, and still attract a huge audience, and they have maintained their style...they dont sell out, and they never will.
Lemme slap on a gangstarr song...ripped it myself from the original.

WTF.. there are many UNDERGROUND acts that get worse as they grow older. While it may have something to do with mainstream, it also has to do with growing, and experimenting with new things.
For instance, Tech N9ne is nowhere where he was years ago, I honestly think the man is repeating himself and doing the same things.
I think he's afraid to change his technique because of people like you, who want to hear the same thing over and over again.

well put, gangstarr is sick, and like talib and mos def and the greats before them tribe called quest and de la soul they are the most talented rappers and they stay mostly underground but r good enough to get publicity and a lot of fans and keep there style of hip-hop and make good money. and wat u said how rappers change there style to be more mainstream is sooo tru. look at outkast for example there still ok now but back in the day andrea 3000 didnt dress like a fag and him and big boi's flow was crazy. there shit was good back in the day.

Im a hip hop head no doubt (hence my name on this site bein Pete Rock). I agree with STZRules theres a lot of good underground shit and theres a lot of garbage underground shit. I stopped thinking in terms of underground and mainstream a long time ago. If the musics hot, its hot period, regardless of who makes it. Theres a lot of good rap and underground shit out there (Tribe, Beanie Seigal, Roots, Nas, Too Short, Dre, etc). And some of that southern shit is good too, especially when cruisin with a nice blunt. 3 6 Mafia and Project Pat. Expand your horizons my people.

I'm a rap fan. But I dont like to be called a rap fan, I'm a music fan. I happen to have more favorite rap songs than any other genre but I still like what ever sounds good to my ear, but as for my favorite rap artist I'd have to be Tupac, but for living rap artists I like Young Jeezy and Game.
