the Space is a 5'x5' basement room with lots of ventilation. actually the room is about 8'x11' but i've sectioned off a part of the room for the flowerin stage. in another part i have the vegitation area where i am growing under 8 32W four foot floro's. i have the two sections light tight and i am getting ready to purchase a HPS. Is 400w hps enough to grow 8 plants in a 5x5 space? or would i be better off just getting a shit load more floros and light them that way. i figured that haveing the vegitation area with floros and the flowering area with a hps would be the most cost/energy effective way to get a decent yeild out of the plants without having the HID light on for the 24/0 light cycle. am i way off base here or should i go for it, and is a 400w hps enough for that space?

Growing MJ is like golfing... stressful but rewarding.

You need a track to move you're light.. And maybe a 1k light..:)

edit: a 400W is not enough for 8 plants.. Unless you have a track to move the lights..!:)

I have a 1000 watter and it covers a good 8 square feet but...BUT....those outer couple feet ARE getting alot less light...so I try to keep my plants in a 6 foot by 6 foot area.
My advice would be to get a 1000 w HPS.
Also I move my plants and spin them under the light...as to even out the light each plant gets and make sure every angle is covered by moving and spinning.
