need help

I live in a state where M is not legal and will prob never be. I am getting it for med reasons, anxiety and depression. It seems to work for some people in this category and not for others. Would rather buy already grown and ready.
If I can't get it that way then I'm gunna try growing some, probably indoors as we have lots of wind even though our climate is warm. What do I need to grow indoors? If grown outdoors what kind of soil do I need.
