Tool? Yeah I like that one song they have that they tuned into like 5 albums! LOL
Seriously they have one song and one sound that they just change a little and play over and over under different names.;)

Isnt that the case for all bands as well, most only have one sound.

I donā??t think so. Most really try to explore different melodies and different base lines (not everything in 4). Not tool. They literally have one song that is now 5 albums long!! Lol

Has anyone noticed that in the song 'third eye' there is a time shift it goes from 4/4 to 3/4 all of a sudden it is really pretty trippy

dude... ur a dumbass.
yes, tool does have a very distinct sound, but the songs all sound very diff. they all have diff scales, keys, tempo's, time signatures, and ive never heard them use the same riff in more than one song.
anywho...
HOOOORRRRAAAAAY!!!! i love TOOL, and ive been hoping for a long time now that they'd get back together for another album. They're musical geniuses. and they're one of the few bands that uses 3/4 and 5/4 in rock. Im gonna listen to aenema right now.

Tool are good in my perspective. I thought lateralus was a very good album. Apparently the new album is gonna be heavier :) which is good cos I appreciate their heavy songs more so than their ambient songs (even though these are still pretty decent). Any specific release date on that album?

There's a very strong rumour that Tool will be headlining the Reading and Leeds Festival this year. Can't wait.

I love Tool, I wouldn't say I'm hardcore Tool, but I really do enjoy them from time to time. They are all very intelligent musicians and people as well. Some of their songs are straight forward, but a lot of it is, not a normal beat. It isn't like 1 and 2 and 1 and 2 and, etc...It's very off beat stuff that is very tricky to play at times. One second they'll be playing 4/4 time, the next, it will be something that isn't even in the books. Amazing stuff really.
When is their new album due out anyways?
Peace

This is taken from the Tool website on the 3rd Fed 06,
"Although there are lots of release dates being bandied about, NONE are official as of this posting. However, in all likelihood, the CD will be released sometime in MAY, and hopefully earlier in that month as opposed to later. As soon as the date becomes official (or, as soon as I'm told that it's official) I will post it on the site, and then some of you can respond that it's old news."

i gaurentee you its not political. only reason emotive was political was cause of hte presidential race. even so, it was kinda a cool album
to those who think tool=apc your retarded. tthats like saying phish=dave. get a freakin clue
you think tool=apc cause maynard is in both. They are fucking apples and oranges. for starters, in APC maynard takes on the traditional vocal role, hammer down some songs in colaboration with lyrics and melody.
tool has a very different aproach. there is no front instrument. The front instrument is the one that they want you to hear at the present moment, if you dont believe me, try turning the volume to a normal level and listening to the mix the way tool intends you to hear it. it is very different.
to say that tool has turned one song into five albums isnt even worth my time for a rebuttle.
