This is my first go round with this so i thought i would start a little log!:)
Day 12 for these little guys 4th day under 400w MH. Cabinet is 4'x4'x4' introducing outside air into cabinet with 6" furnace booster fan. With 120 cfm computer fan doing the exhaust work ( check out the temp ). The top temp ( in= room temp) the bottom temp(out = cabinet temp ). To me the temps seem ok but that dont meen nothing as like i said first go round :)

Those look like my seedling, which is at about the same number of grow days as yours, probably a little more actually. I'm just using a 125 watt cfl, that's probably why your plants have grown a bit faster.

Oh wait day 12, I thought it was four days. So actually my seedling is growing at about the same rate.

what is the temp of the outside air being drawn in? i have a 400hps and need 360cfm to keep the temp in the grow to the same as the temp in the house 72-77. just curious? i have been thinking about using outsuide air intake but it would just be seasonal because the outside temps where i live can get below zero in the winter and above 100 in the summer. i haven't done it for this reason.

btw nice set-up you got there. may your buds be dense and sticky!

well ill just say my outside air temp is the same as yours probably is just a guess!!!! HeHeHe This set up is good for the MH right now but as for the hps im in the process of making a cool tube.
1. 6" booster furnace fan $27.99
2. 6"x4" reducer $4.89
3. hurricane glass $6.00
4. foil tape $8.30
5. dryer duct $6.46
6. keeping your hps so cool you can touch it PRICELESS!!!!!! LOL

i have been having trouble finding an hps socket small enough to fit in a bakers tube of a similar glass tube. what are you using for a socket(hps cord set)

Just use a regular mogul socket and mount your socket into the duct work your bulb should be the only thing in the glass. I am only gonna use the cool tube to flower. The outside air seems to be keeping things a/ok for now. We will see how it goes.

Hey i noticed a little curl on your plants make sure you watch those micro-nutes and pH. More fertilizer doesn't mean more bud....

Ok these are 18 days old now day 10 under MH. Doing very nicely in my eyes but any comments would be great!! They have been introduced to some nitrogen 2 days ago and seem to be doing fine with it :) Temps have been holding around what is in the first post maybe a little cooler in the nighttime.

Thanks Earth i hope they stay that way! These are not any special strain as they are just some pretty good bag seed. I have some durban poison and some NL x Big Bud waiting to go in here as well but they are not doing as good as the bag seed for some reason but they are almost ready for the MH!

Nice looking plants nemf... nice!

Doing good with the ferts/nutes, but don't over-do it. The philosophy is "Less is more" here... ;)

Congrats :),

The less is more theory is a great one. I used it during my first grow and i did much much better than I thought i ever would :). I would definatly try to invest in some organic fertilizers. Organics are much more mellow and won't burn your plants. The resulting high will be killer too. You'll be able to hit a roor with your bud and not even feel it. About 5 seconds later you're looking down at earth from space trying to learn to breathe but really you're just sitting there holding your hit. Trust me, grow organically... you'll thank me later.

yeah it is.. They have lots more like worm castings etc........

Earthy Dank
02-13-2006, 05:08 AM
Theres all kinds... Teas, Worm castings, fish emulsion, bat/bird guano, GREENSAND, Manure, Compost...ect. If mother earth made it, its organic. You'll have to goto a story with a larger selection (nurseries, gardening suppy stores). Also If you do go organic and get bored one day, throw some worms in the pots. They will leave worm casting with high nitrogen and also they help the roots get oxygen.

Ladies (hopefully) are now 25 days old and day 17 under MH. Things are seeming to look really well. They are recieveing Mexican bat poop every other watering with a 1/4 tspn of superthrive per gallon as well. Probably gonna switch to 12/12 in about a week or so!!

Thanks Earth, and justaseed i am really surprised on how quick these are taking off all new branches are now coming out with 9 leaves!!! This is a good thing i think? I just added a 250 cfm exhaust fan to replace the pc fan that was bieng used. So now its 250cfm of fresh outside air in, and 250 cfm exhaust out. I am also gonna make that exhaust fan do the work for the cool tube. It will also help with the smell to as it is piped into a vent going through the roof!
