Every February 14th we celebrate Valentines Day by giving flowers, candy and cards to those we love.


"Legend has it that Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. There was an Emperor at that time by the name of Claudius II. Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those that were married. With this thought in mind he outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of building a stronger military base. Supposedly, Valentine, decided this decree just wasn't fair and chose to marry young couples secretly. When Emperor Claudius II found out about Valentine's actions he had him put to death.

Another legend has it that Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor's daughter. Before he was put to death he sent the first 'valentine' himself when he wrote her a letter and signed it 'Your Valentine', words still used on cards today."

The first true Valentine card was sent in 1415 by Charles, duke of Orleans, to his wife. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London at the time.

Valentines day is just a commercial trap


you are a fuckin liberal tool... valentine's day is a great holiday, that stresses the importance of romance in relationships. also i think it is a good thing to have one day in the year dedicated to romantical relations... i mean considering it is the most natural thing on earth... plus man, it is good to have a holiday where there is a stressed niceness, good will, and romance for both partners in a relationship....

valentine's day is a wonderful day for any romance, budding, or old. DON"T BE A HATER... and if you think that valentine's is one sided, realize that is because most men don't like their girl to go to trouble for them... i on the other hand enjoy the day as much as them... "I WORK HARD TOO, BITCH!"
