Does anyone know how I can get the HUD to display on one monitor so my actual game view on the other isn't obstructed?

if i am not mistaken, there should be a option in your properties that well make it where you have to drag an object to display it on the 2nd monitor, so you can have one on a game and a nother with a program in it....
it's been a while since i had 2 montiors since i had no chioce to sell my 2nd back in the day.

Most games will not run well with duals. Infact I know of none that will run at all. That is why you will never see a hardcore gamer running duals. Duals are great for desktop publishing etc, but terrible for games. You are just wasting resources that could be going to the game on a single graphics card, display setup the way the games were designed to be played.
Good luck.

What do you mean? You just activate the second display in your display properties.
And to who ever said "thast not good enough" of whatever... I dont even know if you were talking to me but if you dont believe that gamers dont use duals goto www.gamespot.com and ask in their forums. You will find people with top of the line 64 bit systems. Many use bridged dual 7800 GTX (PCI Express) video cards for a single monitor to get the max perfomance. NO ONE uses dual displays for games.

It's not a performance issue. I'm not trying to get another view of the game on the extra monitor. Even if someone knew of an external HUD program that I could keep open on the extra display would be great.

I used to run dual display and it was a pain in the ass although I'm sure the technology is much better now. I'm not sure about an external HUD program. Look on sites dedicated to the game you're specifically talking about to see what people have come up with.
Though, if you make your resolution bigger in the game (provided your hardware can handle it) the HUD should get smaller while the FOV gets wider. At least this is how it works with most games.

Yeah. My graphics card is good enough to run BF1942 (my most often played game) at 1600x1200 even at everything set at high and maintain >40 fps. I'd still prefer it to be on another screen, though. Maybe I'll buy one of those keyboards that have little game displays on them.
