I bet it's humid as hell in that trash can!
Thats why they look like that.To much moister in the air .

Did you stop watering them so much...sometimes you'll notice the growth speed when it's being treated right.

If you mean leaving the other lamp on while you switch to HPS, that wouldn't be the best idea in my opinion. The HPS already provides you with a sh*tload of light ;)
If you were talking about if you could use a HPS for both vegging and flowering the answer is yes indeedy. I used my 400wHPS from seedling to final flowering week. Proven to be sufficiently effective for both veg&flowering.

* hey and a point you might wish to consider is fire hazard. your current set-up (which is adorable) has a bit more chance of catching fire than a well-attached, clean, professional set-up.
(i bought a smoke detector that beeps enough to wake me up, and have secured every attachment/connection/potential risk, never be too cautious, you don't wanna be the next stoner to have burned his/her house down & give us a bad image, now would you :))

good luck fellow farmer!

hey i've enlarged the pic of your HPS ballast, that's exactly what i was talking about.
check the integrity of the lamp & connections for your own good. also, consider buying a spare bulb for the HPS, in case this one breaks down & you can't buy one quickly. ;) haha i'll get of your back sry just lookin' out

MeanGreen,

I wouldnt reccomend using both MH and HPS for Veg, Just use the MH. But when it comes time to flower, using both will increase your yield and the density of your buds alot.

Im running a MH right now and its about 175 or 250 dont know but it puts off a nice sweet blue. And in my setup sometime it will say the temps hot but when i put my hands buy the plants they seem fine???? nice and cool worry or not??
