And do they happen all the time?
Hello everyone. I'm a long time athsma sufferer, migraine/tension headache sufferer, some times get insomnia and with age I got high blood pressure. Some medication works fine, others not so great.
I started investigating medicinal marijuana. It would seem that a Sativa/Indica blend would be benificial ... however ...
A few weeks ago I shared a spliff with my brother. He didn't know what strain he was using: all he said was "it's 'Gold' the top notch stuff, real strong". He did warn me not to take such big drags ... when it hit me, I felt a bit dizzy, so I sat down. Then my heart began palpitating, which my brother assured me was normal and would pass (which it did). Then I felt nausea ... no vomitting, but I did spend the next 20 minutes focusing on deep breathing and not barfing.
My brother did say I was handling it well: no coughing (though I did feel a slight tickle in my throat), no red eyes or full fledged panick attack. But I can hardly say I felt relaxed or comfortable ... it felt somewhat like an intense sense of hang over.
It makes me reconsider the whole idea ... are the palpitations common whether you're using a sativa or indica dominant strain? I hardly call feeling like you're having a heart attack pleasant or relaxing.
But ... perhaps a different strain (say, Mango) and smaller dosage? Like rather than smoking half a joint like we did, just taking a puff or two than leaving it at that? I don't want to dismiss something that could be beneficial based on one experience that didn't live up to expectations.
