Is it normal for newbs to cough all the rest of the day after smokin?

I will smoke on breaks during work at like 8 and 10 am then later on in the day I have lots of coughing fits...is this normal and will I get use to this?

if you just started smoking yes.when i first start smoking i would cough like i was gonna die.now i can take extreme hits.Unless its a real gooood blunt or bong then u gonna cough a bit :rasta:

yeah this is like hours later...sometimes its 30 min after i smoke or it can wait a few hours to happen...but when it does I cant stop myself for more than a few minutes...it sucks

a bottle of water beside you is always a good idea when smoking

im new to herb, i have a bottle bong that i use when my bros asleep so i cant fill if with water and i take chambers of uncooled smoke with out coughing at all. but then again my dad smokes so that might have made me a bit resistant. i would say that coughing is normal when you take the hit and a short time after. the coughing fits probably mean that you lungs are agitated(spelling) so just take small puffs slowly and sip water after a few hits you should be right :rasta:

if your hitting a dry bong, hit it softer than you would a regular bong. i make that mistake all the time, but when i think why it hurts and i cough, the i remember just dont hit it like you would a regular bong.

i usually cough alot whenever i take a huge hit from anything especially if its a reverse gravity or blunt.....but i think all of that coughing gets me higher:stoned:

I've almost never coughed, even when I started. I'm not bragging or anything, I just don't cough. When I try to take bigger hits, I just lose my lung power at a certain point.

coughing for me is probably due to the fact that I smoke cigs. back in the day when i barely smoked cigs I could take mondo hits all day long. Now I can still take mondo hits without coughing, just not as many untill the coughing fit begins.

It also depends on the harshness of the smoke. I swear this last stuff I picked up doesn't seem like it was dryed properly. It was still pretty dank and was/is an alright smoke.
