If you don't want to read the whole thing, a summary is below...

Cindy Sheehan, the well-known anti-war activist and critic of President Bush was asked to attend the State of the Union tonight. She wore an anti-war shirt, but covered it up until she took her seat. When her shirt was seen by the authorities, she was arrested and taken from the building.

Why the fuck can she not protest the war. I'll admit, I hate President Bush, and I think he is a terrible leader. However, I am not necessarily against the war, and I support our troops, as I have multiple friends currently serving. There is a little thing in our country called freedom of speech. I don't understand how we have freedom of speech in the Constitution, but once we are protesting against the man who tries to lead our country, we are arrested. Fuck....I don't even know what else to say, besides this shit pisses me off. It is the same with everything, the government chooses what the public sees. Back in the old war days (not that I was a live then), people were actually able to see real footage from the war. The public saw americans getting killed right on camera. Do I want to see this type of thing? No. However, I think it is necessary. The general public has absolutely no idea what type of stuff is going on over there. And the government makes it so that all we see on tv promotes the fact that we are "winning the war on terror" or "winniing the war in Iraq".

Now some of you say that I agree with Sheehan just because I don't like Bush, and I am the first to admit that my fellow Democrats do the very same type of thing. If they were in power, would things be different? Absolutely, but I couldn't tell you what exactly would be different. However, I can bet you that if someone wore a T-shirt bashing the dems, they would also be arrested. And THAT, is the point I want to make. Even though I am a Democrat, our government is corrupt. The people in power will always pull moves that I think make a corrupt government, whether it be the republicans or the liberals.

Thanks guys for reading my rant, and I wonder if you agree with me? I hope that nobody agrees with this type of shit going on right under our noses.

I'm a huge Bush hater. I'm a registered democrat that voted for Al Gore and John Kerry. I think we need to get the hell out of Iraq now! But I still donâ??t like Cindy Sheehan. She does not represent the kind of anti-Bush, anti-iraq stance I want to take.

But who cares anyway? The fact that they arrested her just helps her whole cause. If she wasnâ??t arrested nobody would have even noticed she was there. This is the best thing that could have happened to support her way of going after Bush, so be happy it happened not mad.

You're right, I shouldn't have necessarily said that I agreed with Sheehan, because, like you, I don't necessarily agree with the way that she goes about things. And looking back, that's a good point about it being a good thing she got arrested. But my main point was how our government is corrupt, and controls what the public sees, to make sure that everybody sees the good side of the government. Obviously it's not working too well, with the, what is it, like 42% approval rating?

Well I would say its not working to well because every news feed is carrying the "Sheehan Arrested" story!! Like I said, that is the best thing that could have happened for her and I'm sure was her plan all along.

I have to agree with Base on this one. Sheehan has progressed from grieving mom to serious pain in the ass. Granted she should not have been hauled out for her shirt as it just adds fuel to the fire. On the other hand she really should have known better than to show up in that shirt. After all, the poor woman has had her personal problem hijacked and exploited by every right and left wing nutcase out there and has no doubt been partially brainwashed by some of the goofier lefties like Michael Moore and Janine (angriest white chick in america) Garafolo and egged on by wankers like Hannity and Limbaugh.

Once again I reiterate, if you vote democan or republicrat, nothing will ever ever change. And our nation will die a slow painful death.

One station reported the dumb bitch had a banner of some sort she was getting ready to drape across the balcony.

Guess who's thinking of being your next California Senator?

She wasted the opportunity she was given to be seen and talked about by people around the world. The State of the Union is a civil, ceremonial event. Being a civilized people means being able to adhere to a basic code of conduct at such and event. She let down the original cause that won over her supporters and by proxy, her son.

You see, that is why I have an equal hatred for both republicans and democrats, because they are the same fucking thing.

this is the 1st really intelligent response in this thread...

Sheehan tried to enter the chambers and unfurl a banner...totally innappropriate, even more so was the cocksucker that invited her in the 1st place...pitiful...a couple of days ago I posted a thread on Citgo and Chavez...something important and it passed you all right by...hmmm

later, anti-government, Not anti-American, latewood

Couldn't have put it better myself. I don't think this country would have been any better off with Kerry in power.

No, we wouldn't...You don't put a mouse in office in the middle of a War

By the way...I am not republican or Democrat...I am of The True Majority "Hemp" Party...Growing everyday in order to advocate the legalization of Hemp in orde to help this country out of it's Financial Burden's.
If Hemp were legalized...It's oils have many uses, including fuel...think of it, evry farmer in Indiana could have his fields and family thriving...later.lw
