Burping smoke

I saw a thread about this a while back. Some guy in the car with his folks, burping and smoke coming out from a previous toke. When I read this I was like wtf! No way! I just wanted to know how much time had elapsed from your toke to when you burped out the smoke. The reason I ask is because I was hittin a pipe, something I don't usually partake in. Anywho, I'd finished hitting laid the pipe down and begun to finish off my beer. About 10 minutes after toking I let out a beer induced burp and my face was engulfed in smoke. I couldnt believe it. How is it possible?

i think its if you swallow the smoke instead of inhale it......not completly sure though.....

The smoke gets trapped in an airbubble because of swallowing a lot of air....which is what causes you to burp. The airbubble pops and all the smoke comes out. If you know how to trigger your own burps...then you can trap a huge hit into a pocket of air and then burp out like a huge bong hit. You can see the kid do it on that video.

Itâ??s happened to me and im sure most people. Itâ??s when you try to inhale so hard that you also push your diaphragm down and it pulls some smoke down your esophagus.

Well if smoke dissipates in your lungs, why doesn't it in your stomach when you swallow it?
I've swallowed so much smoke and tried all sorts of ways to get it to work, and never, not even once got it to work.
I do wholey believe you, but until I manage to do it, I'm classing it as BS hehe :p

And finally remember your trachea is always open because we have to breathe, the epiglottis keeps the path to your esophagus closed except when you swallow or burp. When you swallow nothing is coming up, when you burp it is coming up. That is why this happens.

That was a cool video... but that's like immediately after taking the hit, just burping it out, I think people mean they've had a while between smoking and burping it up.. like I read a post about someone having like half an hour between the smoke and then burping at the dining table whilst with family :)

yea...it doesnt matter how long it takes....he just did it fast because he was able to burp on command....why wait?

its happened to my friend....he took a hit before class, then during class he burped and a whole cloud came out....everyone was laughing in the class. This was when he was in highschool though.
