I have saved up enough to move there but, it is hard to find much, as far as houses go, online. Does anybody wanna help me out with a link or sumptin that will let me know about how much it cost to get a decent house. Do you have to go to the city to smoke? Can you live in the country and grow your own? I'm just ready to get out of the U.S. of prohibition.

House? Very few houses in Holland my friend.
Holland is a very small country, can fit into Alberta 51 times, and has a population of 14million people. No open land, cities are minutes apart, and all you will find is condominium like homes, or apartments. There are very few seperate homes in that country. Finding your own house, will prove to be a near impossible task.
It has got so crowded there, that people have resorted to living in the canals in house boats.
I was born in Rotterdam, I know Holland. Trust me, living in spacious America and moving to Holland, is going to be a difficult move.
Peace

Hey dude, my uncle just bought a house-boat and needs to dry it on land for six months :( watch out what you buy, but a small appt shouldn't be a problem. Don't go live in Amsterdam though, that's my advice. Bit like Antwerp, where I live. Very crowded city :)

Can you smoke and grow your own anywhere in the country. I actually just found an appt. for 1188 u.s. a month. I could, if I spent all my money, live there for 20 years. I actually would rather not live in the city if the smokein thing goes for the whole country.

how could something only be legal in cities and not in the country? :)
weed is NOT legal in holland, just "allowed" in the broad sense of the word. you legally CAN'T grow dope over there, and they DO crack down on the big grows (even like 50 plants or so)
yeah.. so do some research amigo ;)

They legalized posession of a shall amount only in Denver.
I know whats up. I also under stand that you cant walk down the street in Netherlands smoking. They dont care about you having alittle as long as your not asting dumb. I'm not a dumb person. I don't intend on acting dumb either. I just want to be able to smoke in my house not worried about my neighbors calling the cops and sending me to jail for a few months. I've wanted to move to Europe ever since I was young anyways. I FUCKING HATE AMERICA!!!!!!!!! Truth is I don't want anything to do whith all the war mongers. I also want to live some place where everywhere I go I don't have to see the same thing over and over. I've been to every state and they all look the same to some extent. Sure New York is dirtier, San Fracisco is fruitier, and Jersey smells worse than Gary, Indiana but, for the most part everything is the same. I'm not just going to Europe to smoke out. I have so many friends from Europe who moved to the states and they all wish they were back except for these two hood rat white boys who's lives are about getting in fights. They lived in England but thier Texans all the way.

I'd love tomove to Amsterdam...But if you can't speak Dutch...moving to a quet little area will be difficult to manage...My advice is to move to Canada....beautiful place I'm told and the law is soft....I'm told.

Enh, most people in the Netherlands can probably speak better English than we can. It's not like the rest of the country is a desolate wasteland :)

Hey man, people around here are very sensitive to languages. :) especially in Belgium.
We have three main languages (which i speak) french dutch and german. English is extremely incorporated in our daily lives, so we pretty much all speak it :upsidedow (I actually prefer to think and write in english :s)
Being 'the American' in Amsterdam is no problem whatsoever. Just ignore the silly accent and babble away, 'cuz they're very social people.

I know the Dutch to be very liberal people! so it's good to know that they aren't too bothered by foreigners....However most of Europe is pretty much "uptight" with regards to the English and now the Americans...everyone loves the Irish though! Also most of the foreign worlds speak English as rule ,because it is basically a core subject in school and is also the "Common Language " of planet Earth.....More English speakers in China than in America!
It always amazes me when I go abroad how well the people speak English and put us all to shame with our basic knowledge of the foreign languages we were taught!
But if you move abroad ...You will always be a foreigner....But I find that people take you as you are and first impressions count! As long as you are polite and respectfull...people will always enjoy your company! Even in France!

dude...i love holland, im going to move there, and dont get discouraged...if anything, you'll be pleasantly delighted by how smoothly it will be....the dutch are wonderful, everyone speaks english (my cousin said if they tell you they dont speak english, it just means they dont wanna talk to you haha), and there are plenty of places to live..my family lives there...id recommend living in Breda or Tilburg, they r great towns with a lot of coffeeshops, and the houses and area is really nice and its about a 45 min train ride to amsterdam....im going to move there.

Canada man, canada.
There's tons of places around the world that pot is legalized or the laws are very soft on pot smokers; do some research buddy, amsterdam's not the only one.

and iono what harvest is talkin about....the law may not be in fact "weed is not illegal".....but its so extremely highly tolerated that if u smoke in front of a cop its totally fine. Shrooms are also allowed. Smoke in the car, smoke as you walk, smoke anywhere u want....and you CAN grow plants....just not a lot...4 plants is usually ok....my uncle actually got caught with 80 plants......plus, its a socialist type government....going to jail is a breeze...they feed you well, and pretty much cater to your every needs. When my uncle got outa jail he gained weight cuz they fed him so well. It kinda sux though...because of this you should expect a high income tax. 30% or so. Which is cool because its still a lot easier to live....the government grows the weed...so of course its cool to smoke freely.

Infidel, i'm only pointing out to the duality in cannabis legislature. Dutch government is planning on forbidding smoking pot in public completely, because the nuisance is rising on opposing fronts.
Plus, cannabis isn't legal like alcohol for instance. I know it's not easy to understand but that's just the way it is.
In Belgium you can 'own' three grams or less. When they search you or your car or home, they won't prosecute under three grams. But it's not legal! Selling it, and purchasing it, can be punishable.
So, to be legally correct, the weed needs to fall out of the sky, into your paper.
Seriously.

dude...your just a belgian...now i know why everyone in holland makes fun of belgians.
By the way...i hate america.....america is trying to fucking influence the dutch to change the laws....because they are the only ones that have that big of a problem with it since they know everyone loves it there because of how dope it is to smoke freely.....fuck america!......holland just has to adapt and change to be like america just because gay america is powerful from all the curupt shit it does. I am a born american, and im officially saying fuck america. All the weed blazing states should go and become part of Holland.

pretty incoherent :). Together the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg) only consist of roughly 25 million people. So we change fast and are sometimes vulnerable. Get over your frustration... ;) I forgive you though
this is a march that i attented, so in a weird way i'm on your side :)

You must have never had to deal with montgomety county.
You'd be better off living in North Korea.

Wow seriously, guys.
1) Canada doesnt have any areas with legal weed -- only tolerated.
2) It isnt legal to posses in Denver. Denver is in CO and in CO its illegal. State law wins, and seriously, who gets arrested under city laws? No one.
3) Why move somewhere just to smoke weed? You probably need to learn alot more about the culture, language, laws, and how the cities are before you decide to leave Texas and move to Holland.
