Ok dude, :) this is going to be a super-mega-duper cloning crash course... money not refundable.

1. Cut off a secondary growth (couple of inches 4-6)
2. Cut off its lowest leave sets (leave only top, small leaves... not big leaves)
3. Submerge the cutting under water, re-cut 0.25" above original cut at an angle
4. Stick lower part of cutting into rooting hormone
5. Place under one CFL (no intense light)
6. Use DIY Bubble Cloner

Bubble Cloner
1. Use a small "tub" (one of those rigid Ziploc containers)
2. Make holes on top of container, insert the cuttings and "hold them" in place... be creative
3. Fill up Ziploc container with clone nutrient mix... fill it up UNDER the lowest part of the clones... 0.5" - 1.0" under the cuttings ... they should NOT be touching the water
4. Place airstone @ the bottom of the Ziploc container... run airpump 24/7
{{When the bubbles rise, they "pop"... this pop "sprays" the cuttings' undersides with nutrient mix}}

Hope that helps,

Saved this as a favorite. Now is the time I am going to use this.

I have it setup, minus drilling holes for the clones. My question is this, once I drill holes and drop the clones in... once they start rooting, won't they get stuck and not be removable from the lid? What size holes do you use?

Thanks again turtle :P

Ya,,, sounds like you'll have to cut them out..:rasta:

Yeap...

I did X-size holes... once the clones grew, and rooted, I had to delicatedly destroy the plastic "lid" that was holding the clones.

I used a "wire-cutter style hand-tool thing" to cut off piece by piece the lid, until I could get my clones out without destroying the roots.

I know, I know... not the best way to do it,... but hey! all 4 clones where successfull. :)

Hope this helps Mister

if youre lucky, you may have one of the easy-to-clone varieties that you can just stick straight into warm soil ... the Cinderella99 and Apollo11 strains are known for this, ... :smokin:

i grow c99 regularly and have since it was known as princess 75 and haven't noticed it being any easier than others...it does seem to root with better success rates than most tho but only with the same conditions i use on the other cuttings. if you have excess cuttings then i'd say go for the dirt-rooting but only with those you can afford to lose, which goes for any experiments. other than that, i recommend sticking with the book and after you get up to 80% or better success rates start experimenting.

also i see no mention of using distilled water for rooting clones...something i strongly recommend. along with a clear humidty dome and a couple flouo tubes...and whatever medium you chose to root in. that's all i use and it's rare for me to get below 90% of cuttings turned into rooted plants, then into the soil...

Well, here is my setup now.

I just went with some tap water i set out for 24 hours, light nute mix, and some superthrive. I used Replicator cloning solution.

It's in a small space with one t5 cfl, and a damp towel as a door. The bubbler seemes to keep the babies pretty moist, so I think humidity won't be a problem. We'll see if they root. My first attempt so.... wish me luck.

This is Purple Kush off a mother I been keeping in 24/0 veg. Forced to start cloning as it is getting too big.

Dude that clear tub has alga in it and alga eats up the oxygen in the water and that is not good for the plants. They need oxygen in the water to surivive. You need to fix that alga problem with something to block all the light from getting through to your water. You can wrap it with a water heater blanket. They are silver and have some R value to it. don't let the water get to hot either then it will not hold enough oxygen for the plants.

There is even a great FAQ on the subject of cloning in the grow FAQ section with pictrues and everything :)

I have a bubbler in there, won't that help with the oxygen?

Not enough, the more oxygen the faster the alga growes. Cover the tub dude or you have larger problems to come.

straightpipes...Mums must be at least a month old. I suggest waiting until you have vegged Mum 2 months.

Mister source...just strip some black plastic dropcloth or trashbags (the thicker the better, easier to deal with during application...) and duct tape it around the tub until light can't get in. Or, 3 wraps gray duct tape all around, or 2 wraps of black duct tape.

Head what advice Zandor gives you. This is very important
why do you think all hydro gardens are opaque? Think about it.

I like the metal square screen idea...

Maybe something over it and around the clone, so light doesn't get to the root area.

You could do a big center hole, and then "connections" to each clone... when you want to remove them, you just slide them towards the big center hole.

That's just a suggestion! Do it your own way, you're doing very good on your own... :)

I just did my first clone growth ... I clipped 3 starts from my female pre-flowered Cinderella99/Northern Lights, and 3 more from my SAGE/Cotton Candy/NYCdiesel ... this is Day 4, and all are doing wonderfully ... all I did was slice them at an angle, dip in water, then dipped into rooting powder, and stuck them into a hole I made in a cup of plain potting soil ... they wilted right away, then after few hours took right off ... I lightly mist them every few hours with plain water ... told ya I was lucky ! :D ... I have them under a large 'cool white' CFL (85/500 watter) ... for 24 hour light period ... now, what do I do ? ... do I set them into a 12 hour cycle, and when ? ... thanks in advance for help ... :smokin:
