Any suggestions of countries within a day or less than a day of travelling of England that are more cost effective and generally American friendly?

Well.... it's closer to the UK than a lot of other countries that's for sure. And not just geographically..
Of course.. if you can't go to the person.. bring the person to you?

Hehe the thought has come up in conversations many a times...meh..maybe that'd be effing awesome! Hehe, but yeah I see somewhere that it'd actually be cheaper to stay in hotels than rent a flat!

Stay away from the big cities in the UK if you're trying to save money. They really aren't that exciting anyway. There are so many little towns (with many little pubs) and you'll have an excellent time if you stay off the beaten path.

Isle of Man :p
House prices and that in my area have risen drastically, when we bought out 4 bedroom house it was around £150,000 and now it's worth about £350,000 so y'know... everything's expensive nowadays.
If you want to visit me, you only have to ask if I have room in my house.. ;) lol

As a general rule for the UK the further North you go the cheaper stuff tends to get.

Northern Ireland is a pretty cool place. However Magic Shrooms are still legal in the Republic of Ireland and you can get them in a few places in Dublin. The downside is Dublin is EXPENSIVE!! I know cos I was born and raised here. However, Shrooms are cheap @ 15 Euro for 15grms. If you make it to Dublin the shop is in Crow street, Temple Bar, Dublin 1.
There's also one on caple street.:pimp: :rasta:
Ireland is expensive but its pretty cool to visit. Have fun

They are mellow. Once I was having a smoke in Pollock Park with my friend, we were parked up in this lane and it was pitch black, so Im smoking away, gettin high, when I suddenly hear this deep groaning noise, I looked out the window and there are 2 highlands cows staring right at me! I got out and was petting them, they are quite friendly, but dont fancy being headbutted by one.
And nah, never ridden one!

Hey, if you go to Yugoslavia, it's only a hop, skip, and a jump to the UK.
