weeds stuck...how can i get it out?!

alright so i've got about an eigth of weed i just bought in the bottom of an old lava lamp(screwed off the base and put it in there) and the other night i was pretty messed up and i went to put it away and i must've screwed it on wrong. well, this lamp is made of metal and when i screwed it on it went on crooked i guess and there ive tried to get it off all day and it just wont budge. I was thinking of smashing the whole lamp and trying to get it out, I have no idea what to do...i'm not the smartest when it comes to fixing things either...is there anything i can do?

Try and yank it off, or grip the twistable side with both hands, the rest of the lamp with your feet, and use your whole body to get it off.

If that doesn't work, smash it.

well if your dad has one out in the garage or whatever... lock one side in a table vice, and use both hands to turn the other side..

get a pair of pilers or sumthing to grip on to the lid, and but the other part in the vise, and that should work.

what i suggested was basicly the same thing you said, except sometimes it's kind of hard to torque something while holding it with your feet, vice can make it easier sometimes.

i wish i had a vice when i had to get a pulley off my power steering pump -.- shit took me 20 mins to do, cuz of the angle that it was at, i had to hold the pulley still with my foot, while using a pulley-puller, which you use a socket wrench to actually make it work...

anyways i only said that incase he tries what you said and can't quite get at the right angle, or whatever...

question to op: how damn special is this lamp anyways? i'd save myself the problems of struggling getting it out and just bust the damn thing, hell of a lot funner too, a long handled claw hammer or 15lb. sledge hammer can make just about anything fun :p
