first timer n00bie looking for advice

Hi all -

I'm never used mj before, but my curiousity has been sparked and I want to give it a try. I've spent several hours reading these forums and piecing together the basic info (ways to use, how to determine the quality, reasonable prices, etc.) Unfortunately I don't have any stoner friends to rely on and get me started, so I'm having a bit of a tough time...

I've made a couple posts on the 'want ads' page, but so far I haven't been comfortable with my options. Buying from a MOM seems like the least risky option, but I don't know how to tell which are reliable and which aren't. I'm not against getting a hookup from someone local (I live outside of Philly), but again, it's hard to know who is trustworthy (and any provider would feel the same way about me.) I'm a working professional and need to err on the safe side. I really can't risk getting arrested over something stupid.

Any advice or referrals to a reliable source would be much appreciated. My e-mail is [email protected].

If you live outside of Philly I'd be patient and wait for something to work out. MOM is plenty risky although it's up to you to weigh those risks. It would suck to get a visit from a postal inspector when you've never even touched the stuff before. Given your location you really shouldn't have any trouble arranging something face to face even being a professional. Try other message boards too. Good to have as many irons in the fire as possible. There are larger ones than this that might lead to tips.

The thing is when you've just joined. Some people might be suspision of you being a cop. I would'nt be like that tho 'cus i doubt a police man would spend all this time just to arrest a stoner. They are some reliable people here you can buy off tho.

buy it in bulk off someone on this site and get a good smoking device aswell trust me you wont regret it the herb is an amazing thing

Thanks, that's what I was planning on doing. Based on what I've read, I think I'm going to go with a Vapor Bros vaporizer. Sounds like vaporizing gives a nice clean high as well as being a bit healthier overall.

Not to discourage you, but I'd recommend holding off on spending your cash on a vaporizor until you've smoked something first - at least make sure you LIKE it, lol! This is a mj board: despite the impressions that you may have from reading these sites, smokers are in the minority - and most people do NOT like it.

You're better off trying some in a cheap pipe, or rolling paper, first.
