ouch, I didn't know you could get arthritis of the ankles, so sorry about that man :(
but anyway, I have inflamatory pain in my low back, upper-mid back, and neck, and I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of those injuries is arthritic considering I haven't healed after 4 years. But anywhoo, I find weed significantly relieves the pain in my neck, alleviates the pain going down my arms and legs 100%, partially helps the pain in my upper back, and doesn't help at all for my lower back. My point being, it seems to be more affective in some areas than others, so maybe it's just that way with all people.
have you ever seen a massage therapist? just an idea, they can really alleviate a lot of pain.

I'm very sorry to hear about your ailment. I suffer from gout myself, and I understand the the pain I get is similar to arthritis. One thing that smoking can't fix is the swelling, so that is always going to be a problem unless you have some sort of anti-inflammatory medicine.
In my personal case, the persistent back pain I suffer from, along with horrible chronic pain in my feet, do benefit from mj. More than anything, it helps ease stress, and allows me to relax, which is something I struggle with.
Speak to your doctor about your arthritis and the pain. Perhaps you could get on some sort of anti-inflammatory medicine that could help.
Best of luck to you!

thats good solid truth, I guess weed would releave pain in different ways in differnt areas of the body for different people. I wish it helped my ankles, but sorry for bitching you sound like you experience more pain then me.
The foot massage suggestion is a good one :) will try! when I can afford it :) but then again if I didn't spend so much on weed, I could afford it then, but then I'd have no weed :( loose loose situation lol

I do have a perscribbed anti-inflamatory. but I can only take it every now and then, cause it conflicts with other medications I'm on. it sucks that i can't really use good anti-imflamatories..so i grit and bear through the pain.
Gout, Ouch! one of my old dealers had gout, he smoked weed to releave his pain. he told me sometimes evern the sheet touching his foot it felt like a train crushing his toes. I'd never wat Gout, but i hear its possible to get rid of if you eat the right amount of nutrients, needed to get rid of the gout, but thats just what he told me. sorry to hear about your pain.

Hey man don't be sorry, chronic pain is fucking tiresome and stressfull no matter if it's foot pain, or back pain, or cancer, or whatever. it's not fair for anybody to have to deal with it.
but just keep in mind I'm talking about a registered massage therapist, not a masuese, a lot of people mix the two up so just wanted to make sure. :)

Howdy gnome,
I have degenerative arthritis setting into my back and I have 2 fused vertebrae,L-4 and L-5,and the only weed I can afford,is the regular street-grades,mostly mex-brick and skunk-brick,and it doesn't make the pain go away per se,but it does help alot in an anti-spasmodic way. I haven't really had the opportunity to try out medical marijuana grown for pain, but I do know that the thc content is much higher than street-grades,so you'd think that it works more effectively for pain relief.
I do know one thing for sure--chronic pain sucks ! I hope and pray, that yer pain eases. :)
Have a good one !

My foot pain occurred four and a half years ago.
I've undergone tests and experimental epileptic drugs, still the doctors couldn't pinpoint where the pain was coming from. I had an MRI done on the brain and it came up inconclusive (I had Brain Trauma seven years prior).
So, the pain, at it's most center-point, is right on the outer side of the top of my left foot to my ankle. It's not bone or nerve damage, it's the result of my Brain being jolted after a T.B.I. Once that happens, your hippocampus steps-up production 2600%. But, that's another story. But, they told me, long ago, if I ever was in a serious car accident, again, that I'd be more susceptible to injury (because of the T.B.I.). And what do you know, a Chevy Venture Van broadsides me, in a Chevy Cavalier, trying to get across eight lanes of rush-hour traffic in order to get to the other Supermarket's parking lot.
So, it's like Arthritis.
A deep bone pain. I smoke high-grade herb. I wake up and before I step out of bed, the pain sets in. Usually, in a couple of hours, the pain shifts to a numbing feeling that seems like millions of blood cells are comforting every molecule of pain. I've only had one-hit today and, already, the resonating effects of the pain (which stem to my knee) have been deafened.
Only one way to find out, in your case.
Smoke more weed!

Hey guys, if you haven't tried it, find an experienced foot reflexologist. I use one at least once every two weeks. The relief from pain that I get from an hour session is unbelievable!!!! I have used foot reflexology for about seven or eight years, and I swear by it.
In addition to the relief from foot pain, you also get some help with headaches, and some people who have chronic digestive problems say it helps a bit to alleviate their cramps. I worked with a lady who said she was always having horrible intestinal cramps, and she tried my reflexologist and said it was like night and day. She still uses my therapist and it's been five years since her first visit. Much, much, much more enjoyable and less problematic than medicines.
One thing, be sure to get an experienced, licensed reflexologist. Most massage therapists say they do reflexology as well, but it's a totally different skill. A good reflexologist can tell you what ails you just by manipulating your feet. If you aren't satisfied with your first experience, try someone else until you find one that works well for you. I swear it works wonders for me.
Hope this helps.

I wish reflexology would be able to correct the ghostly after-effects of severe double-vision.

Definition: Reflexology
Reflexology is a pressure point massage on feet and hands which is based on a system of zones and areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet. Those areas correspond through energy pathways to different parts of the body.
Through the stimulation of a pressure point, nerve endings are activated corresponding to specific parts of the body through a feedback loop of the neuronet in the brain.
The result of this stimulation causes:
1. The circulatory system to rise.
2. The immune system is activated and more capable of taking care of uninvited bacteria and viruses present in the body.
3. A deeper state of relaxation that brings about a shift in the neuronet from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting healing.

Beachguy--foot pain? could be easy! (search Plantar Fasciitis)
I always wore work boots (arch), then got some loafers (flat) for Xmas. Within 3 months, pain so bad I couldn't stand out of bed. Wake up, stand up, fall down in pain, crawl around!
Went back to work boots, pain totally gone in 1 month, no problem ever again.
Flat shoes are to blame. Shoes need arch. Nuf sed.

Pot for pain? I don't think its an analgesic in any way. I think what we hear about "medical marijuana" is distorted for political reasons. It can help you feel better.
Try explaining this to your mother (or government):
A) Mom, this drug makes me feel good! (bad)
B) Mom, this drug reduces my pain! (pol cor)

Howdy rab,
My doctor told me that RedWing work-boots,work very well in correcting posture and reducing foot pain and back pain, some doctors prescribe them. I can attest to that,I have 2 pairs of em myself and I don't wear tennis shoes anymore either.
Did y'all know that elavil is good for moderating nerve pain ? My gal has bad feet and now that she's taking elavil, her foot pain has decreased, she used to complain about how hot her feet felt and how painful they were, now she doesn't hardly complain about such. Heck,I always thought that elavil was just good for mood elevation..lol.

Some good info here. Thanks for sharing folks.
I have ankylosing spondylits and fibromyalgia, Basically my SI joints and spine are fusing, every joint in my body gets inflamed and muscle spasms are the norm. It's very painful and messes up sleep patterns. On a good day I feel like I have the flu...whole body aches. on a bad day I can barely walk.
I joined these boards to check out options.
Some anti-depressents are good for pain relief too. Cymbalta is one that sgows a lot of promise for some people.
I already take celebrex (anti-inflam) and enbrel (immune sepressent) and tylenol PM regularly. I also take stronger pain meds, muscle relaxers and sleeping pills as needed.

No, it's not foot pain. But, it stems from the top of it.
Just as it stems from the ribs and top of the wrist.

Sometimes using cannabis in ways other than smoking works medicinally.
The people in Mexico still use cannabis to help them with the pain they suffer in their joints due to long hours in the fields and long hours of brutal work using their hands, wrists, arms, ankles, etc etc.
What they did, and still do, is take cannabis leaves and soak them in rubbing alcohol for 30 minutes or so, and then they take the leaves and place them over the swollen, sore, areas. They have practiced this for centuries.
I live in San Francisco's Mission District, which is Mexican American Majority, and they tell stories of how their parents and grand parents used cannabis in this way. I guess your obsticle might be to find a surplus of fan leaves, or other decent size leaves that would work for you.
My dad died due to complication brought on by Arthritis and the pain medication that he was prescribed. The old guy wouldnt use the method i speak of because he was a firm believer in obeying the law. Geez i wish he would of tried it. To see him in so much pain when there was an alternative for him to try, and he refused, still bothers me to this day.
I hope that this turns out to be helpful for you. Pain is a horrible thing to live with on a daily basis.
best of luck,
dai*ma:stoned:
