i've thought about this alot..and i hope none of you guys think im stupid for asking this but..why do you smoke? i know i smoke for many reasons..mainly depression, stress, anxiety, sleeping disorder, and also it helps relieve pressure in my eyes caused from sinus trouble..i mean if medical marijuana was legalized all over the united states would there be a majority of you guys needing a prescription for it for an HONEST medical reason..b/c i've tried other drugs (man-made pills) and they just don't work as good and the side effects suck..do any of you smoke for personal reasons instead of just to get high..jw

Yea I would get one. I have degenerative disc disease, Severe back pain. I take 3- hydrocodone 10's, 3- Ibuprofen 800mg, and a nerve blocker a day, And that just eases the pain. I can smoke some weed and pain is gone (if it is good stuff 2-3 hits does it) all above that just makes every thing seem OK ;)

yes I would also qualify, I have debilitating side effects from surgery. Weed means I get to eat or that I get to keep what I ate in my tummy.

i have mild asthma and it seems like it helps. I feel like i can take in these huge breaths. And the relieving effects on my lungs seem to last a few days. I'd say i smoke to get high and the medical stuff is like a free bonus :rasta:

When I was three, a playmate attempted to murder me with a hammer. I have about 5 nice dents in my skull and a large backwards "L" shaped scar that fortunately is hidden by my hair. As a result of this I get migraines, cluster headaches and, unless I'm stoned, there is this 24/7 nagging head ache. My headaches vanished when, at 19, I tried cannabis. I'll be 59 this year and all I get now are occational, very mild, cluster headaches--nothing like they were before ( flowing waves of pain or an ax down the midline of my skull). I did quit several times over the past almost 40 years and the headaches and migraines come back with a vengence. I've been X-rayed and cat scanned so I know there is nothing seriously wrong with my head; it just hurts all the time if I'm not toking at least a couple times a day. Also, I like cannabis! :stoned:

In my household there are a number of reasons. My better-half has a condition called Ehrlers Danlos Syndrom (EDS), a collogen disorder which results in hypermobility, chronic pain, fatigue and various other effects. For her, cannabis is a practical alternative to drugs such as Co-dyadromol, Amitryptalene and Volterol, all of which (particularly when combined), can have some horrible side effects. She has not eliminated these drugs from her life as a result of Cannabis, but the frequency with which she uses them is massively reduced, and unnofficially approved by our doctor.
For me, I kind of grew up with cannabis as part of my life from an early age. Working in the music business for quite a long time it was inevitable that Cannabis became one of a suite of illegal substances that I used to induce. Although now, Mary Jane is my only love and the one which remains with me. For me its about relaxing, enjoying music and the "reasoning" / social aspect.

Even though it's illegal, I've already discussed it with a doctor (after all else has failed) and he told me what he tells all his patients, to keep it on the down low. He can't offer anything further.
I retain the right the smoke herb under the constitution, where it says if all other medication has failed, and marijuana works, then I have that right. It has been fought through the courts all the way up until recently.

I have a really weak stomach, and weed just cleans me up when I'm not feeling to good. Its really bad to eat and not have a few hits afterwards, I hate that sensation of having your stomach so full. I also think cannabis helps me focus more (at school) and it makes sex amazing.

I like it for anxiety and for pain relief. I have discussed this with all my doctors. The only time I have been told to stop is by my most recent doctor here in Florida.

My old man used to get home from work and have a beer. Later in the evening he would maybe have 2 more before bed. Just a way to relax. I get home and have a couple bongs and later on have a couple more. Not much of a difference if ya ask me!
Since alcoholism runs heavy in my family I feel much better about my choice of substance. I'm sure my liver thanks me too!
