im not really that good with c02 i use candles, but 4lighting around the house compact floro's (they r the weird shaped energy saving bulbs)r probably the best u'll find unless u got an aquarium. if u do then the long floro's arer usually of a higher wattage and work great for vegging. if ur willing to invest then buy a hid, u can find these at hundreds of places online and are by far the best type of lights for flowering

If this is your first attempt at doing this, I would hold off on using any C02, you'll have plenty of other things to worry about for your first couple of tries. The compact flourescent bulb is your best bet for a low cost, med quality investment. As a matter of fact, there are CF bulbs now that are damn near good enough to use for anyone. After you get the hang of it a little better then look into CO2 and High-Intensity lighting, first you need to understand soil, soil amendments, fertilizers, light schedules, determining sex and flowering times. Good Luck!

Here is an easy way that I just read about in a book a few days ago. Take around a lb of sugar and mix it with enough water to dissolve it all in a empty milk jug or something like that. Then add a thing of yeast and then that will create CO2 slowly for almost no cost. You can put the lid on it and run a tube from there to your plant area if you want to also then. It isnt the best but in theory would work and is cheap. I am going to try on my grow setup.
