Question: Coughing = Higher?

I've heard this question a lot, and i suspect it may be a myth. What do you all think? Does coughing get you higher? And if so, how the hell does it work!?

its supose to open parts of your lungs that the smoke dosent usualy reach since coughing is really a natural thing you do. i just think it gives you blood shot eyes but we have a visine for that.

I dont know about higher, but I would say it gets you high f a s t e r. After a bong hit and a few coughs, I get a huge headrush and the high immediatly kicks in. That's the best part of bongs: being run over by that coughing fit and headrush to come, then sitting back and taking in the high.

coughing is just a way of rushing the high... it doesnt make you any higher, it just speeds up the process of becoming high...

i cough when i get really high. first few bowls are usually really easy for me then when i start to get high it gets harder to take all the smoke in and i cough lol. actually sometimes it gets to the point where my chest hurts so much and i lie on the ground like.....Ouch it hurts

We've been coughing today. About 10-20 mins after we finished smoking though. It was quite severe too. And its usually when we feel very high as well.

Coughing would agitate the surface of your lungs allowing for more THC to be passed into your blood stream. So you could get higher off less weed and faster,but remember coughing=more smoke out of your lungs. All in all I think it would actually just balance out.

yes or it can be from expansion of the smoke which yes does get you higher. smoke some fresh hash and that expands wickedly and gets you high by the time you cough out your first hit

i bin in a room with 15 people on a 20L bucketbong we all took a hit from a cone holding shitloads of weed and then 15 people all coughed and splutted fo ages itwas mean we were all fukd from the experance coughing just makes it a good sesh.

Then theres bad coughing and you know cause it hurts and everyones looking at ya.

i think coughing just keeps more air out of your lungs and if you keep coughing you dont get time to take in the air.. so you get a headrush and get light headed fom not getting enough air. like if you hold your breath.

In a way it does, because you are taking a bigger hit than normally so you start coughing and you just get higher quicker.

When your coughing your taking more smoke into your lungs. So much that your body realizeds its not getting any O2. Quite simply your getting more smoke in your lungs you get higher.
