'Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)' off of 'First Rays Of The New Rising Sun'...

It was recorded like a week before his death...

I really don't know the man was too good, Message to the universe at Filmore maybe
but I'd have to go with the improvisation at the end of woodstock, blows my mind every time I listen to that, plus he put every1 who performed at woodstock to shame, then topped it off with the greatest fucking improv he's done.
New Rising sun is a tune aswell.

Red House when I'm sober, but I prefer live, improvisational music when I'm stoned.

"All along the watchtower" is definetly my favorite hendrix song. For some reason i also really like "bold as love" also. "hey joe" is a really mellow song and the solo is awsome. all in all hendrix is amazin... or was amazing. But he made decisions and we gotta live wt that, unfortunatly he had to die wt that. R.I.P.

Maybe you should listen to more woodstock recordings... Hendrix played and sounded like shit through his whole set until he got to the end with the National Anthem and all that shit....
As for my favorite song of his, probably "Wind Cries Mary"

Message to Love live at Woodstock, when he breaks down into those 4 chords and then goes into the solo while he ad-lib's over it, just gives me shivers!

Check out the "Band of Gypsys" album. "Machine Gun" That one got me through some hard times. I listen to "Star Spangled Banner" every year on the fourth of July just before we set of the fireworks. Woodstock? Well it was prety impressive regardless of how he sounded. You would have been a little flakey if you'd been tripping whole hog for the previous 72 hours. Ah Jimmi

Of the "First Rays of The New Rising Sun" album, only three songs were completed: Freedom, Night Bird Flying, and Dolly Dagger. The guitars in the live version of "Freedom" are awesome, but I think "Hey, Baby" would've been beautiful, once finished, but the best song, finished or not, is "Drifting".

there is only one answer to this question:
little wing

i think it might be the prettiest thing in rock music... "take anything you want from me.... anything..." and then he hits that magical guitar note... mmmm, mm mm mm mm mm... "fly on, little wing"

but i love almost all of his songs, honorable mentions to "all along the watchtower" and "hey joe"

yeah, and one of my favorite scenes in the movie American Beauty is when kevin spacey's wife walks in on him and is like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" and he's being a rebel, lifting weights, and smoking pot as bob dylan's original version of the song plays :D

jimi's is better, though, but i do like the bob dylan version
