If you have XP then check the sound volumes by clicking on the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen (has a clock in it) then a window will come up with all the volumes of different aspects of your PC.

OR maybe you havent connected all the wires to your PC from your speakers.

If none of the above I am stumped.

if he can hear while he is playing, he obviously has the wires hooked up right...lol

dude, its a configuration issue. might be an irq conflict or a directx configuration or activeX configuration issue.

if you have xp, restore to a date before you put that game in and dont put it back in you system until you can figure out how to resolve the conflict.

You can uninstall the sound drivers, and reinstall with the provided disk, that might help the problem. If that doesn't work look for the manufactures website, and download the new drivers for the soundcard. It might be another program conflicting with the sound, but I doubt it. YOu could try hitting cntl alt del and shutting down all programs except the basics.

You may also want to find out what kind of sound card it is and download most current drivers from manufacturers web site. It's also possible that your game, assuming you just installed it, overwrote the original sound drivers with it's own. Check the web site of the game as well as they may have a patch. Also, if it's a brand new machine, if you haven't already done so, do a windows update since most new machines are a month or two behind on MS updates before they leave the factory.
